All these negative comments recently made me pause on the show. But it looks like I might be able to start watching again soon! I have never seen Deng Enxi in anything, but she's actually quite a refreshing actress. I do think her character is quite reckless, but I think she's supposed to be quite young in the story as well?

What about Wang Xingyue?

I agree with everything you said. I hate how unfair YDZ's life was. If he had grown up sheltered and loved with his entire family like BDJ, he wouldn't have been forced into this situation. YDZ killed innocent people, but so did the old emperor and this new emperor. I wish they had just managed to kill Xiao Ruojin, forced Langya on the throne, and YWJ can leave with YDZ. Yes, I know Langya never wanted to be on the throne. But honestly, sometimes the best people to hold power are the ones who don't seek that power. Everybody would be happy (except maybe Langya)! I don't like YWJ as a character, so I don't think all this warfare was worth it for her. I wish they made YDZ focus more on his son rather than that useless woman. He already lost his mom, does he need to lose his dad too? The whole situation was infuriating for me.

I will say though. I thought TBOY was much better. You should definitely watch that one!

You're right. I like to see character progression too. Especially when the two leads complement each other and help each other grow. Green flags can also show character development. The male lead in WIFTY was at first very closed off, but he became so much happier and more communicative as the drama went by. One of my favorite green flags of all time 🥰

I agree with you. I don't like the old typical kdrama male lead that are unclear about their feelings, send mixed signals, and do the constant wrist grabs. I love the green flags!

You misinterpreted my comment. I never said I saw someone log out. I said they must've forgot to log out. What I saw was the same username responding to their own comment, again with the same user name, with comments like "Exactly!" "Rightttttt" like they're agreeing with themselves. Except it's literally the same username talking to themselves. I don't want to post the thread here on a public forum and start drama. I actually found it and shared it with OP. I've been very respectful in this community and never engaged in arguments with people just because they disliked the show. I don't care that there are people who don't like the show. It's normal. What I don't appreciate is that you're basically implying I'm a liar.

Only because they forgot to sign out. It was the same account name responding to their own comment saying “I know, right?! ….” having a full on convo with themselves. There are lots of people with constructive criticism and valid complaints, but many of these MDL comment sections nowadays have trolls.

I've actually seen a couple of instances where this person who dislikes LR would respond to themselves like they're another person agreeing with their own comment. Except they forgot to log out and log in to the other username, but I decided not to call them out on it. I was trying not to feed the trolls...

IIRC Lei Mengsha was kicked out of the Lei family for a period. During that time he wasn’t allowed to use the Lei last name for his kids, so Li Hanyi used her mother’s surname.

Not blaming Dylan. There were too many cast changes in general with the Ye Hongyu, Li Yu, Emperor, and Empress, etc. And all the new actors interpreted their characters so differently that my mind just couldn't accept it was the same drama.

For those that have read the novel and mentioned that they gave certain scenes from PWX to SRQ instead: Can you tell me what they are? I'm particularly curious about which things that happened in the drama should've actually been for PWX. I really like PWX, but he just feels like such an underdeveloped character. I'm curious if the novel does a better job. Thank you!

So nut sack said that her brother ordered them to kill her. But I thought nut sack and Shangguan Ya were on opposing sides vs Li Chuan. Nut sack and SY wanted to install her and SRH's child as crown prince, while LC wanted QZZ's kid as crown prince. How come they teamed up to kill her? Wouldn't nut sack and SY want LR to be around to support their kid since she supported their prince? I don't really understand why they worked together, when nut sack seems to hate LC so much.

How can she trust and be so easily persuaded by one of the ones that conspired to let her die? She's calling her brother a monster based on what SRQ said only. Has she even thought about how she was part of the problem in her previous life that drove her brother to become what he was? Her brother had every right to want QZZ's son as heir to the throne, considering the other kid wasn't even his. Her brother so far has proved his devoted loyalty to her and their empress mother. All I saw in their first life was her and the empress disappointing him and constantly trying to control him for the noble families.

Then instead of consulting with PWX, the one person who always gave her the benefit of the doubt , trusted and loved her all these years, she decides to call that snake over? What happened to that whole self righteous speech to PWX about his life isn't just his anymore and that he should consult her before doing dangerous things?

She's also lashing out at Shangguan Ya when SY hasn't even done anything yet. I don't see her lashing out like that at SRQ before when she thought he killed her? He just got a soft "I can forgive you if you kill me because I understand you had your reasons. But if you kill him, I will hate you forever" She understands if SRQ kills her but not everyone else? What's with the double standard?!

I'm so over this show. I thought we were finally making progress, and now we're back at square one.

This drama is getting nonsensical.
