I'm sorry, but what the actual f*$%$^ is that Ep 33 preview with SRQ and LR spinning in slow mo with soft background music? Why do they keep inserting these romantic scenes for second male lead? This is why people keep scolding the female lead for not being clear about her feelings. They create all these unnecessary scenes that are supposed to be romantic when she has clearly said she doesn't like him that way. I don't dislike the character's backstory itself, but these scenes are so friggin unnecessary and try hard.

I know! This drama needs to spread the slapping love. Only Concubine Rou and Uncle Pei got a slap so far, and they're not even the main villain!

This is honestly child's play compared the three you listed. But fortunately, I'm not watching it for the political machinations. 🙃

I agree, I think the character itself has a nice tragic set up that most people can sympathize with. However, the actor who plays it is just too green. He does every thing text book, when the character is sad, he pouts and looks mopey. when the character is angry he does the eyebrow furrow. All basic crap. He doesn't infuse any charm or charisma into the character. He's young and he has time to improve, but he definitely is a big sore spot for me in this drama.

I'm so excited! I loved the first one. I hope they can keep the same strong writing for season 2!

I actually felt sympathy for Wang Houwen when he said he doesn't expect to be able to leave and asked Consort Rou to release his birds. Yet somehow I still hate SRQ despite the many scenes the producer has tried to garner sympathy for him.

UGHHHH that sounds like a great scene. Based on random comments by users it sounds like they've taken away so many of PWX's shining moments, and instead used that time to try to make SRQ look better.

What a complete and utter disappointment! I wish they showed the intensity of her disdain for him like in the novel. It draws a much clearer line. I feel like based on the trailer for tomorrow's episodes, they're probably going to shift more blame on her brother and try to white wash SRQ again. I'm so sick of this!

Does SRQ try to assassinate PWX in the novel?

Luo Zishang did so many bad things, but I still cried for him in his last scene! Also, I never felt annoyed when Luo Zishang pined for Liu Yuru, but I want to slap SRQ every time he makes a pass at LR 😅

That's honestly my biggest complaint about this drama. This second male lead is incredibly unlikeable that I don't even want to watch him on tv. I don't think the actor is doing a good job at being a complex villain. His face consists of 5 expressions throughout the entire drama. This character really does have a great tragic antihero set up. He's just too green to play such a complex role. It's a total missed opportunity. I wasn't rooting for them, but I could sympathize with Luo Zishang (Liu Xueyi) in Destined, Princess Wanning (Li Meng) and Shen Yirong (Liang Yongqi) in The Double.

I agree that person is mentally unwell. How does this person or persons have so much time on their hands?! I feel so sorry for you. It's not even like your review was unfair. You brought up valid points. Not everyone is going to like or enjoy the same things. You rated it a 6, when there are tons of 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s etc. I don't understand why they're targeting you. I recall Coolforthesummer had a 10/10 too. I feel like this isn't about you guys hating or loving the drama. They just seem deranged. I have no idea who that user is, and I hope that if there are people that know that user would actually ask them to stop. Nothing about this is okay. I will also try to report them.

That is absolutely ridiculous. It's just a drama. I loved it and may not share your opinion on the drama, but that's no reason to send you death threats or even leave comments criticizing your review. Some people need to go to a therapist to get help. It's a public forum, you have every right to write your opinion even if it's not a positive one. I'm really sorry this happened to you. I hope you reported them and that they start leaving you alone.
