It was funny, but less so than I had hoped. I guess my expectations just were a little too high, but it was an okay movie to watch with some snacks, taking it easy. :) I think the actors were all good, but the only character to make a somewhat strong impression was Lucius (Abe Hiroshi).
Please excuse this ignorant question, but what does it mean to be a "post-it girl"?
*lol* Ok, I see. I thought it maybe was a thing that exists, like OL = office lady = woman who works in an office... Well, it sounds like a pretty bad thing, though. But, this is a comedy anmd romance so I suppose life will make it up to her in the end. :)
The central character itself deserves a 9. You hardly ever get to see coldness done in a humane rather than cartoonish…
After completing this drama that I loved so much, I am a little bit lost for words. Thanks for this well-written comment; now I don't feel like I have to try so hard. :)
If I have ever seen an underrated drama, this is it. 7?! Come on! This drama is ALL kinds of wonderful. I watched the last episode literally moments ago, I'm too emotional right now to say anything deep, but read Bladey's comment below, and you get the point. Myself, I didn't hesitate to give this a 10.
I first saw him in the wonderful Shinya Shokudo, I liked his part but didn't think a lot about him at the time, didn't even notice his name. Then as I began to watch Alice no toge, so many people were saying that Odagiri Joe was the best thing about this drama. I was like "huh, so is he someone I should know about?"... So, you had a great timing for your artice, which is very well written by the way.
Who else likes this? I'm only on episode 4, but I really enjoy it a lot so far. It's warm and cute and the cooking…
Okay, good to know. :) I'm not sure why, but j-drama has never inspired me to that kind of writing, the way other things once did. I think maybe because I often feel that they are satisfying enough as they are, or I don't know...

Haha, no, I never did it, I wrote the review instead! (Does anyone ever write fanfic for j-dramas anyway?) It's been a few months since I watched this; it doesn't stand out in my memory as anything "amazing", but yes, a very nice drama. I'm glad you agree. :)
I've more or less caught up now (on the streaming site that I can use here) so now it's just like 15 mins a day…
I see, maybe you'll enjoy reading the books after watching the drama. :) I loved the series when I was a kid so that's why I wanted to watch this (re-reading a couple of the books as an adult is a strange experience, though). In the book, there's a boy that pulls Anne's hair and shouts "it's on fire!" but they couldn't use that when all of them have black hair! I'll definitely be amused if they keep these parallels up. :) Well, but if not, I'm sure it's interesting anyway! I won't give up yet!

My Japanese Facebook friend said this is as popular as Amachan right now, so I was hoping there would be subs somewhere... but if not, I'm prepared to try it without! I don't expect to understand a lot, but I won't know before I try... :D
Very interesting! I've been curious since I've seen Thai lakorns being mentioned on MDL lately, so thank you for sharing your insight. I liked the "cute scenes" part of the video... but ah, I think I'll stick to Japanese dramas for now.
Oh yes, the sewcond leads can be just as interesting and likeable as annoying, depending on what type they are!…
Well, maybe I should write a "mirror" for your article, then. :) On the other hand, I don't always watch the most popular J-dramas so I'm sure many people would want a different list. :) Either way, the topic you chose to write about is interesting because all people who have watched at least a handful of Asian dramas are sure to have an opinion on second leads. (Rui might be better in the last category, perhaps? I was really rooting for him most of the time, I know it's an unpopular opinion but I disliked Domyoji a lot of the time. I guess the main flaw of HYD for me is that personally I have a hard time seeing why a girl would fall for a guy like that.)
Oh yes, the sewcond leads can be just as interesting and likeable as annoying, depending on what type they are! The vindictive plotters are too common! I haven't watched any of the dramas you mention but I am familiar with the types. Here's a small list from me:
Bystanders:
* Rui (HYD)
* Choukun (The Tempest)
* (Sawada Shin from Gokusen, if that counts since Yankumi doesn't end up with anybody)
Vindictive plotters: too many to mention, but:
* Risa's brother (Nagareboshi)
* Sakurako (HYD)
* What's-her-name from Last Cinderella..... and more.
The uninterested:
* Eisuke (Slow Dance)
* Kondo (Doctor X 2)
The endearing losers:
* Tachibana (Last Cinderella)
* Erena (shitsuren Chocolatier)
* Mariko (Saigo kara nibanme no koi)
