There are only two more couples to see (at least from the promos). The Princess and Bodyguard’s arc was about…
I really like their story too! I think I like Bu Tai and A'Kun's story because the actors have chemistry which I just haven't seen with Gong Jun and Yang Mi's characters and frankly I'm a bit disappointed. I feel like our main couple has been really stiff and don't get me wrong b/c I get that our FL was totally written that way but...
I've been seeing a number of comments about the MDL rating being brought down by "haters" or whatnot which has got me wondering how the rating system works. I'm wondering how ratings of individual episodes are weighted versus ratings of the entire drama. I only rate after I've completed the drama, I never rate individual episodes.
Does anyone know how the rating system works? I only rate after I've completed the drama, I never rate individual episodes. I'm wondering how ratings of individual episodes are weighted versus ratings of the entire drama.
I'm 8 episodes away from completing this drama but idk if I can handle it. I was pumped when I read comments from others saying the mains have a healthy relationship but honestly I can't stand how our ML acts as a bystander while his ex constantly antagonizes the FL. Obviously, this is a drama and the characters are going to do dumb stuff but y'all are calling it a healthy relationship yet the ML literally allows FL to be bullied by his ex because he doesn't want to be confrontational...jeez.
Part of having a healthy relationship is standing up for each other and setting clear boundaries with others when needed. It's not just about interaction with one's partner but how you interact relative to your partner and the environment/others around you.
The ex continues the inappropriate behavior because ML never really tells her off. He just ignores it but that's not enough to stop her from doing it. She obviously gets caught because we see the FL tell her off in front of the ML; he's fully aware that she's playing games. He really should say to the ex that her behavior is inappropriate and that it disgusts him...something along those lines. Again, I understand this is a drama but ffs I'm kinda triggered!
Ya know, the way I think about it is that a lot of people are told they only have x amount of years to live (like with cancer) but end up living many more years than what they're told. This actually happened to my friend. So, in my mind I'd like to believe this happened and that they lived long enough for both of them to have white hair.
it's just hard to ignore because we see ML going from looking like a 8 yr old to an adult while FL doesn't age…
Man, I see what you mean by bringing Twilight up as an example but idk if it's the best example b/c that one is 10 times more concerning imo lmao 1) B/c Jacob literally has no say in the matter of being with Renesmee because imprinting basically enslaves him. He couldn't leave her even if he wanted to and actually it's kind of sad because he's treated like garbage. Renesmee bites him knowing it hurts him and Bella and Edward just laugh. He's a glorified babysitter while she's growing up because Bella and Edward are too busy getting it on for hours on end. 2) Bella and Jacob previously had a romantic relationship. Which would be like if FL previously had a romantic relationship with ML's father...that would be weird.
I would say that Twilight is much worse lol. I definitely agree that we should wait to see how it plays out because it will probably develop in a way that makes their love make sense.
True, comorbidity is pretty common! From what I saw of her character as the show went on, a lot of the symptoms went away and she mostly just struggled with understanding the difference between platonic love and romantic love. I felt this was probably due to a lack of socialization. She was never exposed to ideas of romantic love as a child and had no parents to give her an example of it either.
Oh, that's super cool that you work in that field! So, you definitely know what I mean when I say it's probably more so developmental delays and PTSD rather than ASD!
Her character seems to have some developmental issues from being isolated for much of her adolescence and from past trauma. She also has a fixation on Traditional Chinese Medicine which also functions as a coping mechanism, but later becomes a useful skill. She gets triggered by loud noises which triggers her trauma response; she seems to suffer from PTSD. She doesn't always understand social situations, but that's just a product of her being isolated during the portion of her adolescence when social skills are typically learned. Others have commented on her character's behavior as seeming similar to autism but it's just her trauma and lack of socialization mimicking symptoms of autism. Her character definitely grows and begins to heal over time with proper love and support from the people around her. She's very sensitive, smart, and caring. I think portraying characters on the Autism Spectrum or those with developmental issues takes a lot of talent to make it seem believable. Bad portrayals can feel a little disrespectful. I think Lu Yuxiao did an excellent job portraying Shaoyao!
I saw it as him not having enough time to translate papers and stuff so he hired her to do it. Like he's too good…
The one weird thing tho is when he's talking to Susan on video chat. She's speaking English and he's speaking Mandarin, but if he studied in the US I would've expected him to speak to her in English. Or at least for the conversation to be in the same language.
Huge logic flaw: if he has a PhD from the US and even offered a teaching position there, why does he need an English…
I saw it as him not having enough time to translate papers and stuff so he hired her to do it. Like he's too good and important to do these menial tasks.
