Wow, I took a break from watching this at episode 18 just because I was losing interest, especially compared to the other dramas that were/are airing (Joy of Life 2, My Wife's Double Life, The Double) and now I'm starting back up again. Honestly, hearing you say this makes me not want to pick it up again ughhhhh

What exactly is the meaning behind white chrysanthemum oil? Based on the context it sounded like it had some sexual connotations to it. Since it's an oil my guess is that it's used as a lubricant. ML's subordinate seemed to take it as a hint that FL wanted to engage in more baby-making, but ML's mother seemed to think it meant he had a performance issue b/c she said he should get treated yet she also told FL not to have the ML use the oil.

And to find out this maid who is the "adopted daughter" of ML's mother has only be her maid for 3 year...pffft

The part of the plot where ML's mom tries to marry her maid off to him is hilarious and so unrealistic. Maids have a low status and no mother would willingly marry a maid to her son who is a prince. The only way this would happen is if the maid seduced the prince or if the prince was a pervert and took the maid. Even if the prince and maid were in love she would probably only ever be a lowly concubine and possibly not even get a wedding ceremony. lmao

Yes, I noticed that! lmao. Interestingly, I was reading it as "the capital city" instead of the State of Qing. Because at some point when Wan Er's mom is talking to the 2nd prince one of them mentions that she's banned from Kyoto and I thought she was sent to another city (Xinyang??) that's still within the State of Qing.

It’s at least somewhat of a win because the machine isn’t trying to directly translate characters’ names. Altho I did see something about someone being a proton 😂

That being said, I just got to episode 30 where it switches to machine translation. In my experience machine translation is at least mostly understandable.

As a native English speaker I think Kiss.kh's English subs are pretty good. I just wasn't sure which language the OP was referring to since the site offers multiple languages lol
