That "western influence" discourse is a bs to begin with. One of the funny things actually
In my country, the majority of kdrama fandom says "kdramas are ruined since netflix came. It's too woke anymore" or they just whine everytime there is a good lgbt representation.
They just miss the times kdramas were overly problematic (they still are tho especially when it comes to other races' and countries' representation.
Is it me or is the ML sister too old for the role? She could be his stepmother.
I was thinking abt it too, bcz in the webtoon she was like only 7-8 years older than him and in the drama it just doesn't give me that vibe. But I will just just wait for her acting skills atp
As someone who is also reading the prequel webtoon (drawn by Spoon, the artist of THEE "Who made me a princess") I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS DRAMA SO MUCH. MY SAFE SPACE. THE SEROTONIN OF THE WEEKENDS.
After finishing See You In My 19th Life and Revenant, King The Land is like the stress pill of the day lmao
Oscar is a global award ceremony despite being held in America, what are you on lmao. It's like Emmy, Tony, Grammy and every other universal award ceremony.
Nana was like a reset button in my life. It changed me as a person and I'm so serious when I say that. I still remember the days I was obsessed with it...
i just want to say thank you for stating the TWs. there are so many good films that has actually triggered me…
Welcome. Sometimes I see the need to letting people know about TWs because there are things I can't handle while watching movies and shows too... Like you said, it would be too good if the site itself could state TWs...
I was curious what qualifies as "new" as well. Same with IU. And Seo In Guk has done other film work too. But…
I suppose other than the time gap, the lack of movies in his filmograpy is also a factor here. He only has two movies after No Breathing and it makes him a new actor to the Chungmuro
To be honest, I still can't get over the fact that Kim Go Eun got snubbed... Like... It's not even funny. The screenwriter is nominated despite distorting the history and didn't even apologize but the lead actress who carried the drama and showed an insane range got snubbed. It's a robbery.
And I don't even talk about Park Jihoon who was the main star Weak Hero Class 1. They still don't recognize idol actors who have talent, it's sad. And King of Pigs got robbed too, despite being one of the best written and executed dramas of the year.
So happy for Go Youn Jung. It was her 4th prestigious nomination for this role in Hunt but I expected to see her getting nominated as the best new actress for the drama category too. Happy for IU. Broker and its cast still don't get justice because it was directed by a Japanese director.
There are also some other things that made me frustrated to see. Such as EAW the drama itself and the writer getting nominated despite writing that episode where mc excuses ra*pe, or some other things. But anyway, I hope at least the awards will be given to the people who deserve.
