I am at ep 8 rn but my thoughts abt the culprit haven't changed since the first episodes. I still think it is Simok's lawyer friend from junior school. He said he was sad that Simok only talks to him whenever he needs him. And it was mentioned a few times that the murderer wants Simok's attention that's why the crimes always happen around Simok. So I think he wants to attract Simok's attention like this. He always appears at random times.
ALSO, I think it can be Young Eunsoo too for the exact reason even tho it is kinda predictable. She always wanted to prove herself to Simok. And Simok always ignores her if he doesn't need her. So she can do it to show her potential to him BUT she looks like a sane character and I feel like she is driven by revenge and proving that her father is innocent, not some other thing so I don't think she would do something like this. She wouldn't do something to an innocent girl who was also the victim. She also has a family to take care of, after all.
I alwaaays wanted to watch this drama bcz its poster was interesting to me. But tbh I thought it was way older bcz I remember seeing it for the first time years ago and the poster gave old makjang vibes. So it surprised me seeing that it was new.
Can't explain how much I love this drama... Its romance side, its comedy side, its drama side, its friendships, its serious plotlines... I love it as a whole. Even though I am rewatching it for the 3rd time now. I love every character too even tho sometimes they are really insufferable. And I love the fl. Tbh if I experienced what she went through, I would have second thoughts while breathing too.
Started it for Bogum because it was like one his rare projects that I haven't watched yet and I had my reasons. But the romance part was so boring (the story itself started so funny tho) 😭 For the first time in a sageuk, I was interested in the plot more than the romance part (since Six Flying Dragons) Do you have any idea how serious it is for me? lmaoo Anyway, Kim Yoo Jung, you will always be THE child actor.

It was a beautifully tragic story, I am not even gonna lie no matter how much I was pissed off at their relationship's tides but their acting kept me up. Especially Park Minyoung, I heard she said she had to cry atleast once every ep and it was exhausting 😭
But also I realized they are the king and the deposed queen from Janggeum's Dreams 😭 I remember shipping and crying for them even as a kid.
To me, this story's the most evil man is Chae Kyung's father. He died for a psycho king, leaving his daughter behind, destroying his whole family, knowing it will hurt his daughter in more than one way.
