In the novel Xiewei basically forces himself on JXN when they got kidnapped and pretended to be a couple. IIRC he kept pinching her to make her moan every couple of nights so it sounded like they were having sex, but he got turned on 1 time and forced her to give him a bj/legjob despite her refusal. over good guy Zhang Zhe because XW is certified crazy and has random bouts of violent manic psychosis. He considered killing JXN for in both lifetimes to keep his illness secret. If he didn't fall for JXN he may have killed her and in the novel he basically disregards the fact that JXN doesn't like him and lashes out at her for rejecting him, IIRC she even said being kidnapped by bandits was good because it was easy to free herself once they left the city, and harder to escape Xiewei's control freak tendencies. Lol I guess it helps he's handsome and women love Dao Mingsi type control freak characters even if they are violent?

Edit: i read the Chinese version of the novel guys, he's pretty violent during his manic episodes. He is pretty much like an ancient China version of Daomingsi who tries to ensnare the FL who is in love with Zhang Zhe (Hua Zelei?)
