Lareina is all but confirmed for the January 2023 filming of Prisoner of Beauty as the FL and Liu Yuning will be the ML Wei Shao. Lareina plays Xiao Qiao (nickname Man Man) who takes the place of her older cousin to marry Wei Shao, a general with a deep grudge against her family for causing deaths of his father and brother. Wei Shao sees her as an enemy and is marrying her out of spite, and Xiao Qiao plots to protect her family from his revenge plans.

I'm being realistic? He is not a 正剧 actor, he has never done that genre before. The rumored leads are Tan Jianci (ML from Under the Skin a 2022 hit), Zhang Wanyi, Bai Lu (she acted in Ordinary Greatness by the same scriptwriter), and Song Zuer (rumored for the Eurasian role in the book but she may not have time to film this) since this is an ensemble drama about young people living near this river area, not an idol drama.
Xu Kai does mainly romance idol dramas and his original voice is rarely used so it is unlikely he will act in it.
There is no way it'll be Xukai, this is not an idol drama or a romance but a drama based on a book that won China's top Maodun literature prize. The script is not even out but if you go and read the book, it's an ensemble drama about a river spanning 3 generations. The director and scriptwriter have won awards for Ordinary Greatness, Red Sorghum, Tiger Mom among other shows, they tend to work with older actors or young film school graduates because this kind of show has very little romantic element and is more plot based.
