I’m giving up on kiss scene 😂😂 (i won’t be clowned anymore lol)I think this one is too heavy to be categorized…
I think people want to see all the usual things you get in romance dramas, which is why there's a lot of frustration (I see it in Korean comments too). But like you, I also don't think of it as a romance in the traditional sense. I don't really expect or need all the fairytale stuff. To me, it's just the story of how a king loved a court lady, and how that changed their lives, for better or worse.
Am I the only one that heard it again? King telling his mum about who he will choose to be his queen? Are they…
They mentioned the Crown Princess's palace, 'bingung'. That does not refer to San's mother. By then, Sado was dead and she was called Crown Princess Dowager.
At this point we’re just wondering if he’ll force her or will he not… if she’ll accept him before being…
I hope they won't go down the forcing route. I'm gonna find it really hard to be at peace with this couple if so. I mean, it'll be realistic I guess, but still...
Not new. There is reference about it also in 'The Red Sleeve'.
I'm not watching it, I just came here to check the comments. Tbh, it looks a bit too comical and fusion-y for my tastes. I think Red Heart might be my next sageuk after The Red Sleeve.
I really have to suspend my disbelief about a lot of things. I wonder if they hired any experts to advise on space travel? I know next to nothing but even I had to scratch my head about a new crew member showing up at the last minute. Surely they have standbys on missions this big and important? If there's no lunar module, wouldn't a shuttle have some kind of parachute or inflatable bumpers to ease emergency landings?
The investigation aspects of this show were truly laughable. Lee Bo-young spent the entire time in "desperate mum" mode so her performance felt very one-note. And I don't need to talk about the ending. I gave this a 6.0 and I think that's pretty generous.
Two characters that pulled this out of the "average" range for me were Soseono and Sa Yong. Otherwise, it's a by-the-numbers hero sageuk with some hammy acting in places. It's definitely not as romance-focused as the poster makes out. I can see it being a comfort watch for people who like old-fashioned adventure stories.
a private company shutting down their message board to not be bombarded with hate messages from people who haven't…
Most people in Korea couldn't care less about idols. I'm not Korean but I can read the language. From what I've seen (and I've had a good look around the various communities) there is plenty of debate about this online on both sides, as there would be in any democracy. It's not just a mob of people with an agenda trying to cancel the show.
And of course, they're trying to protect their product, like Amazon filtering negative reviews.

I would hazard a guess that Korean people are significantly better informed about this than anyone on MDL getting their info second-hand. And as I said, there are only a couple of hundred posts. It's not a comment thread like here. In any case, a blanket censoring of feedback is highly suspect.

To be clear, it's a feedback board. You need a JTBC account to post on it. People can post feedback at the moment but on the Snowdrop page, the posts are only viewable to the author and the drama staff, whereas on all their other program pages, these posts are publicly viewable. I find it difficult to believe every single piece of feedback is a "hate message". In any case, they could be screened, just like any other moderated forum. There are only a couple of hundred posts. Locking the posts from public view just looks like they're trying to silence feedback and criticism.
As for the Naver live chat, it's only open during broadcast. I doubt people are going to go to trouble of sitting in a chatroom for over an hour spamming hate messages without watching it.
Joseom exorcist was also about to finish filming when the drama was cancelled bc of netizens. Sad but true but…
China is involved here too. They've got their fingers in many pies in Korea.
"Apart from the purchases of Korean shows, many Chinese companies have started direct investments in Korean dramas to promote their products over the last few years. Last year, Tencent's We TV also invested 100 billion won ($91.1 million) in JTBC Studio, which produced "The World of the Married."" https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/nation/2021/01/688_302470.html

I also find it quite funny that they made a whole program earlier in the year about the dangers of historical distortion in Joseon Exorcist.
