Except here it's not just the finale but the penultimate two eps as well. Christmas might not be a huge deal in SK but are people going to tune in for those 4 whole hours over Christmas Eve/Day?

The timeslot for each ep is 1hr20. Including ad breaks, two eps back to back will have no trouble getting to 3hrs, or v close to it.

If that's the case, I don't think the extension was a great idea. Pretty sure two rounds of 3 hour long double bills isn't conducive to good ratings.

Next drama is starting 7/1. I don't get how they're going to cram all the episodes in, since MBC Drama Awards is on the 31st...

As well as his solo stuff, I highly recommend songs he wrote for 2PM too: Give It To Me, Go Back, Love Song. Honestly, 2PM has a great discography, it's well worth checking out.

I am. Even though I have some niggles about the writing and pacing, it's still very beautifully shot, the character relationships are intriguing and ofc there's Junho rocking hanboks and being badass

I'm seeing a lot of pain in Jeongwon's future and he's the only character in this drama who doesn't deserve it 😭

Historical accuracy in itself doesn't get me excited for a drama. I can just read a book or watch a documentary to learn more about Taejong if so.

Yeah, I regret the lack of nuance to her character too, though they sprinkled some in episode 10. Maybe they felt the need to make her all-out "bad" so that she's scarier and more of a formidable foe to match our hero? I mean, I think the fairy court set is cool, but it's definitely extra

I guess I just want more insight into her inner thoughts and feelings, especially about San. We've seen some in the past, like the scene where she's throwing rocks into the water or the one with the little leaf boat. It could be a monologue, scenes with her friends, anything. But because there's so much plot happening in every episode, it feels like she's more of a plot device right now.

They've been married for decades and he's the father of her children. Not everything is about looks.

Another issue is that repetition is already baked into this drama through Deokim's repeated rejections, so I think the drama should've avoided adding more repetition through the grandpa-getting-mad-at-San thing. They maybe could've condensed a couple of those incidents into one?
