It seems like they didn't find the ripped out pages of the banned book that Deok-im kept inside this book. I feel like the reaction would've been way worse if so. So has she moved those pages somewhere else and they're yet another ticking time bomb?
I love Deok Im especially the in parts of episodes where she is thinking by herself. She is my favorite character…
Yeongjo had actually outlawed tattooing criminals by this time. What I found interesting is the part about lovers' tattoos. Maybe another reason why San got so angry?

Whether she's allowed or not, nobody ordered her to pledge her support to San, nobody ordered her to go to the queen and ask her for help. She chose to act of her own volition because she believes in San as king. She's not some helpless damsel in distress, she's working in the name of her own political beliefs.

Yes, I don't think I've heard of any other Joseon kings being rejected.
And Deok-im's biggest decision so far, when she defied the king's order and barged into San's room to declare her support, was based on her coming to her own conclusion that San would make a good king. That was all her.

Your perception of this drama is weirdly simplistic. You speak as if Deok-im has no agency at all, which would make for incredibly uneventful show. She's shown on numerous occasions that she's not passive. That's what people on here are enjoying.
Yes but grabbing her neck was not needed for the scene. Poor script. This is typical Asian drama trash stuff -…
You're forgetting that he already said that he could kill her before. She was totally unfazed by his words. To get a reaction out of her, he's showing that he might actually follow through with it.
All the court ladies were the king's women so he could take any of them to bed. They needn't ever become an official…
Yep, that's why most commoners didn't want their daughters to become court ladies. And it's what makes Uibin Seong unusual because she rejected Yi San, and he accepted her rejection without forcing it (the first time, anyway).
I'm not worried about the ending because they keep flipping the endings in the next episode. It was funny at the start of this ep, where San and Deok-im had a role reversal with him getting out of the bath like he was the one attending her haha.
