This story is getting more interesting now that the plot is picking up (on ep 14-15) but I had a really hard time…
I think it's more like her senses are dull and not opened up. Like they're trapped and just need to be unleashed? Like she can't process or perceive what she is seeing, smelling, touching/feeling, hearing, tasting, and awareness of surroundings/other's motives, etc..
For example, in a situation where most normal people would be angry and even think about revenge, she would just brush it off quickly. or when it comes to love -there is no deep understanding or difference of love from a lover or a sister.. But you could tell there is something special for Si Feng, but even she can't pinpoint it herself because she can't understand those feelings. (The drama does show that her sister and family tried to teach her how a normal person would react in certain situations, so I guess she has some head knowledge about it. But not deep understanding of them.

I started to rewatch the drama on my big screen TV and appreciate the fighting choreographies, the beautiful costumes and up close shots of Si Feng’s face even more!

I was also a little confused in the beginning. you can also see it that when LHJD was released, XJ became trapped inside, but her love for SF was stronger than LHJD hatred and revenge, so XJ could be set free and separated. XJ is not the same as the old man, her heart is completely different. The original Asundra is genderless so XJ is not originally a man. She is the 10th female life of the GOW, who is female. Hehe hope that helps~

it’s fine to share your opinion. No one will attack you. In my honest opinion, I do find it odd that if you don’t like too much romance why you bothered to watched this. I give you props though for finishing it since it’s a super long drama with a whole lot of romance. Besides the romance, the sets, costumes, fight choreographies, CGI and even side characters stories are some of the best I’ve seen, so there is more than just romance to appreciate in this drama, though romance is the main theme. But I believe we can all agree the actors gave it their all and did a good job with the script they were given, despite the story not being your cup of tea.
