I read that he only has foster mom(?) that love him. Showed how much he yearn for mother's love. 3. The spinning scene not sure who I guess it's gong qi. Whoa he spinned so fast making his robes looked like a fan. 4. Also there are long and short hair I wonder if they are different characters or different timestamps. I think the make up is different too.. the short hair has thicker eyebrows maybe it's just me 😅
I love TJR and I'll most likely watch this drama anyway, but why did they change the original material of a female…
My thought on this is yes, i don't think people will be interested if the lead is female because this is not romance drama. In fact, i never see any female centric drama with no romance. If they really want to make it female centric they need to choose powerful actress like yangzi.
Majority of idol drama audience are female so they need to cater to everyone's interest. Maybe the scripwriter love the novel but cannot bring it to live if it is carried by female character.
Let's be honest, people who are complaining (not you) will also never watch it if it is non romance female centric.

Yeah this time around he really is the top billing. But people will be nitpick because of gender swap. I already seen it on reddit. They will nitpick every single thing but like rui said we must protect this drama

Me! I had experienced with that Tom. I specifically said I'm new to cdrama world and asked why xixi's drama whispers of fate haven't air yet (at that time) and he went crazy on me. Saying rude things and expect me to know about their industry work. I was very taken aback. I will always remember u Tom. But glad many people jumped on my defense and replied nicely.
