This drama had too much going on. It was interesting at first but the last eight episodes felt overwhelming. I…
The last eight eps explained so many things even things that happened early on xiaowei arc. They focused on jiling, lu wuyi and li jie and the story make so much sense and the motive is so much clear. BUT if you are watching for wuwu couple then it i can understand the lost of interest. Pretty much nothing big happen to them after the illusion arc. Maybe this drama is not for you but the last eight eps are my most favourite parts

On early eps they both like each other out of nowhere. Like no background story except that first meeting so I'm kinda skeptical about the chemistry. They just met once but they are all into each other. But the storytelling is so well that they managed to create chemistry and pureness of first love between them.

I agree with the dynamics between LWY and JL. She's also on the innocent type so they both match each other well. Something about their characters didnt feel cringe at all since they both compliment each other weirdness. Also when fox jiling playing with the doll and LWY's soul is in it, she looked at him adoringly. That girl down so bad

Rewatching ep 1-3. I can picture many actors playing longshen but for Jiling? Only Tian jiarui suits the character. A man bringing fox doll everywhere. How weird is that but he didnt make it cringe. Instead it feels natural. He has that boyish charm and cute face 🦊

Anyone can explain the fan culture in China? I saw Ruirui taking fans letter after filming. So are fans allowed to go to the filming site and do you have to pay for it? Also, I never see other actors collecting fans letter like Rui did. Maybe I didn't see much, idk..

The moment Lu Wuyi opened her eyes, she was on a wooden cart being carried somewhere. She could not move, could not speak. She knew her soul had attached itself to Jiling’s fox doll. Ji Chan had warned her that she did not exist 150 years ago, so the only thing that could connect her to Jiling was his most precious possession.

Someone had picked her up from the street and placed her on a boat drifting toward the cave. Jiling, in his fox form, was there. Lu Wuyi’s eyes instantly lit up the moment she saw him.

‘Ji Ling!’ she shouted in her heart.

The joy instantly turned to sorrow when she saw Jiling’s ankle bound in an iron shackle. Jiling picked her up from the boat, probably smelling Yuan Xizai’s fragrance on the doll. He was blind. How could she forget?

The fox cradled her in his sleep, probably sharing the warmth she could offer. But it did not last long, because Yuan Wuhuo came, and things quickly took a turn for the worse. Yuan Wuhuo tried to stab Jiling, but instead, he stabbed her—the fox doll. She did not know what happened, but the moment she opened her eyes again, she was in Jiling’s arms.

Human Jiling.

The Jiling she loved.

Tears came streaming down her face. He was blind, but his loving eyes were always the same. He had cute fox ears and a long tail. Lu Wuyi smiled while crying.

Lu Wuyi became Jiling’s companion every day. The man would play with her, eat with her, and talk to her. Jiling talked about his favorite wild raspberries near Yumian Lake, how he loved strolling by the lake while listening to the birds sing, and the sweet smell of flowers during spring. She was never bored listening to him every day.

At night, Jiling would hug her, offering warmth to the fox doll. Their faces were so close that Lu Wuyi could see his gentle face clearly. He was an innocent fox, too pure for the world. Her silent tears streamed down again. She wished for them to stay like this forever. Maybe being a fox doll was not so bad after all.

Jiling named her A Wu because of the sound a fox made.

‘Try to say A Wu,’ Jiling said.

He then demonstrated how a fox sounded. She laughed when she saw him making the cute noises. She would make sure to tease him about it in the future.

At some point, Yuan Wuhuo unbound Jiling from the iron shackle, but he refused to leave the cave. He had probably grown close to Yuan Wuhuo and saw him as a brother. Jiling would sometimes sneak outside to get some fresh air within the Shilin Sect, but that day was different.

He followed Yuan Wuhuo silently when Yuan Wuhuo suddenly bid him goodbye in the cave. Jiling overheard the conversation between Yuan Wuhuo and Chiwen about a suicide mission and suddenly jumped out, snatching the dragon scale from Chiwen’s hand. He was blind, but the dragon scale was shining brightly, so it was easy to grab.

‘No!’ Lu Wuyi cried instantly because she knew this was the beginning of Jiling’s cursed fate.

Jiling swallowed the dragon scale and groaned painfully. Lu Wuyi could do nothing but cry.

‘Jiling…’ she sobbed heavily.

Jiling hugged her tightly as the pain grew worse.

‘Poor Jiling…’ she said in her heart. Tears poured down like a waterfall.

‘My Jiling…’

The dragon’s deity walked slowly into the dungeon where he usually meditated. He wore robes that were too big for his body, perhaps symbolizing the dragon deity’s duty that was too much to bear.

He was, in fact, a wild, blind fox. He never had a name. He was captured by Yuan Wuhuo and confined in a cave. He knew Yuan Wuhuo was hurting; the man kept him locked up even though his brother had long passed. He also knew that Yuan Wuhuo often looked at him from a distance, and he could occasionally hear him crying.

He didn’t know how many days he had spent in the cave, but somehow, he did not grow angry with Yuan Wuhuo. Maybe this was for the best. He was blind, a bit timid, and not used to having a human form. But Yuan Wuhuo gave him food and sometimes silently accompanied him. He would never survive outside.

He also had a fox doll that was always with him—in the coldest nights, in the loneliest solitude, in the joy of having a chicken. His fox doll was his everything, the only thing he possessed.

After eating the dragon scale that was meant for Yuan Wuhuo, he gained eyesight and suddenly bore responsibilities he had never imagined. Yuan Wuhuo was like a brother to him. The moment he heard about the suicide mission from Chiwen, he decided to take Yuan Wuhuo’s place. Yuan Wuhuo was a great man, a commander of the Shilin Sect, while he was just a blind fox. His life was worth nothing compared to his.

Lord Chiwen gave him a name—Jiling. He liked it. He liked whatever name he was given because he had never had one to begin with.

After tens of years living as the dragon’s deity, Jiling sometimes missed his fox doll that he had left in the dungeon. But he needed to be seen as worthy. He had to learn many things, to take care of so many people. His smile slowly faded, and the gleam in his eyes gradually dimmed.

He almost forgot the taste of wild raspberries near Yumian Lake. They tasted better in summer, for sure.

Would his fate have been different if he had never eaten the dragon scale?

He wondered.

I'm a new TJR fan. His acting skills really impressed me. That's the most important thing I took into account when watching drama. He delivered through so many characters in VOS making it easy to watch and less confusing. I hope he will walk on flowery path after this and become more famous so everyone can see his talent

I can totally see this happens. The wire works are crazy here.

VOS is the last GJM drama he filmed. After that he filmed two dramas under different directors. So I guess he'a walking that path. I wish him success in future and not bound only to GJM

You really twisting her words like that.

I'm saying this as non fan of the 4 ML. TJR is under his agency of course he needs to follow them. And he's also new to the industry so it's wise to grab whatever opportunity given to him.

He got the most complex characters in this drama so he works really hard for it and u cannot see anyone critisise his acting. Also I saw a vid where he's in so much pain after too much wire works.

You can hate GJM but you shouldn't hate the actor coz he gave efforts as much as he was given the opportunity. He didn't take things for granted.
