I started watching tsl because of cheng xing su but actually fell in love with the 2nd lead more. Maybe it was because of the characterisation and his growth from a bad boy to a good boy intrigued . Plus his backstory was more interesting. As for yuqin's character he was already powerful and pure hearted but just a bit awkward due to years of seclusion

Meanwhile TY doesnt't even care . He might be one of the most secure ml in dramaland. BXS attempt to incite jealousy resulted in failure. TY really knows YH like the back of his hand.

No problem with your opinion as to each their own. Based on my interpretation .ML is supposed to be a naive socially awkward person who got betrayed in love. But still just and has a kind demeanor. The dragon lived in seclusion so he isn't that used to humans. Even in that village he never talked or got close to anyone except the grandma. But with Yanhui, he is slowly starting to open up ,freeing himself from his painful past. However, I can see why you may find him boring because this is somewhat similar to the ml of tsl in his first life who was cultivating alone for thousands of years except that he didn't have a tragic past like TY. (Tbh i found the 2nd ml more interesting there). I think TY's past made a huge difference in me perceiving his character vs the ml of TSL. A solid back story helps in the characterisation. Ty isn't passive although he became reserved and developed PTSD because of the way he was betrayed . Plus his situation from a mighty dragon to his current state is too pitiful. I could feel his pain. Not to forget dynamics between the two leads, no secrets, loyal towards each other instantly drew my attention. Add his micro expressions to her tactics , it's cherry on top. All these things made him very appealing to me
