like how? can you explain a bit
all the phone calls (which just went to CM and HJ), the letters they wrote to each other (when CG's letter was opened up in front of the rest of the people in the quad room by HK), and the end where they lined up and made calls in front of everyone. like it's so awkward to get rejected publicly imo.

I loved the people but didn't totally love the format. the number of times they left the bois embarrassed or humiliated was like too much tbh it was so hard to watch them call someone in front of everyone and it not go through. but it's better than any other dating show I've seen, so props to them for creating it!

Review DNA Says Love You Spoiler
Mandarin does not use gendered pronouns in the same way like we do. As such, you will see some subtitles start…
thank you so much for this comment! I definitely know that Western cultures are really strict and narrow about how to respect people w pronouns and whatnot. knowing more about how the translators were thinking and how Mandarin functions with pronouns is incredibly helpful!

still hella mad/sad that eun chan and chan gyu are completely ignored by everyone. i wish people could give chan gyu a chance - yes, he's introverted and sensitive but he's mature and thoughtful as well? maybe he "doesn't have the looks" but does everyone have to look a certain way? it's super annoying. and eun chan - apparently he's relegated to the peanut gallery at this point which is also disappointing. i wish people would give him a chance, too

episode 9 was so uncomfortable to watch for me personally. it's just really tense and i feel bad for some of them,…
completely agree. im really sad that folks didn't pay attention to him at all, but i think his shy nature just wasn't what anyone was looking for.

just finished this (6 years late apparently), and I feel like one of the underlying messages hidden in this show is that people can have entirely different outcomes in life if you change the way you treat them and if you make different choices. it does harp a little bit on the "if you change one thing to a good outcome, a bad outcome must follow" belief - the yin-yang of life - but generally speaking, I really appreciate the commentary on personality and human development. the whole "the past can change the present" thing reminds us all that what we do now can have a long-term outcomes for others, and we ought to be mindful. loved this series, and I'm a tad sad at the ending, but it was brilliant. loved the commentary on corruption and the unchanging landscape of systems. 20 years later and was anything really that different?
