They are just mad because the timeline was reset.
I don't know why everyone always uses the "its just a romcom kdrama" whenever the writing lack, it's not an excuses imo. Why would we lower our standards for kdrama but not for western show?
The difference between your examples and this kdrama is that she travels multiple time, it's a central part of the plot that is not explained, so you can't expect me to not refer to what we know about TT. If it's different, then explain it, it's not complicated. I can understand that it's not something that is supposed to be focused too much on, it's just disappointing from my pov that the world building is lacking just because all that is important is the love story. The TT is what brough me to watch it in the first place, I like that trope. There are only 2 episodes left so, we'll see how that goes.
At the end it's just my opinion and my sentiment on the whole thing, I respect that it's not that important for other people and that the writers wrote something that's not meant to be looked at under a microscope.

I kind of agree with you, but Sol also remembers everything from every different timeline she as lived, and when…
I don't speak German, sorry.

It's not my opinion, it's how time travel has been built in sci-fi until now, using actual physics. In the hypothesis that time travel could exist, you can't disregard the physical laws of our world. Those rules are the one people follow when they write books, movies, show about time travel. Because it should still be somehow logic, otherwise you create paradoxes and plot holes and people are confused. If she travels in the past and changes her own future, that future never happend and she shouldn't be able to remember it. Once she's back in 2023 she should remember her new life, not the previous one. Again, following logic used everywhere else. I don't mind new rules but they should be explained, otherwise we just base our understanding on existing theories. That's why I'm not satisfied with how they wrote things so far. I turned my brain off so far because they decided to go with whatever they wanted to get their impossible romance, cute, not a problem. But the remembering a life that never happend, with no explanation, it makes no sense. And I'll take my words back if they do explain it, but I'm 100% sure they won't.

To be fair its time travel via a watch, I imagine theres some liberties that you can take with the logistics of…
There are enough time travel material today to have something that's not whatever we have here, I agree, it's not that difficult. But even if it was, no one forced them to use that trope 🤷‍♀️
They just used it to have an circle of romeo and juliet kind of bs and didn't care about semantics.

It would have made more sense if she traveled in body and not in soul but then she's be paralyzed and she would also need to deal with past IS lol

I turned my brain off for the past episodes but the whole remembering things that never happened is my limit haha. It's fine, there are only 2 more episode left.

I don't think she is, since it's her soul that is traveling, not her body. If she did, she could have an unlimited amount of chances to save SJ. Except if the watch's power only works once in all time and space but I don't think they thought about that ahead.

OG sol shouldn't be able to remember a future that never happend from her POV just because the future changed.
She's in the past, she alters the past which creates a new future and then remember that past from her future self POV, but as long as she isn't back in the future, she should be able to remember it. She also can't remember something that hasn't happend yet and will not happend because she is still changing things. The time traveling here make no sense, it's full of paradox. That's why time travel movies and shows go with the alternate universe route, because it's the only to make changes without creating paradoxes. But here since her soul travels, she altering her own time-line. One that once altered shouldn't allow her to time-travel anymore.
When she uses her first chance in 2009 instead of 2023, it creates a huge paradoxe because she is in 2009 because she was using her third chance. That third chance no longer exists from the OG POV. Idk if I'm clear but none of the normal time traveling theories are being respected, they just do whatever they want. And you can created your own rule, but it should still be something we can somehow explain with physic and logic. That's not the case here.
The fact that she remembers her 2023 life is impossible if she's not body traveling.

Then they should adress it, explain the logic they used because time travel as a theme in cinema follows the same few rules and none of them are respected here. A lot don't make sense and its lazy to just do whatever you want and hide behind "its time travel" with no further explanation. When someone use a different rule because they want to, they adress it because people are not suppose to know how they built their world.
for exemple, there is not alternative realities here since her sould travels and not her body, so there should be a paradoxe, adress that.
Also time travel with a watch or a machine should be the same, even worse, since her soul travels, there should be no watch in the past, but whatever.
I just hate that they think the romcom is more important than the world building.

the whole time travel thing is a plot hole because the rules are not always the same and they didn't even adress them because it's easier not to than to follow 1 logic and stick to it. For exemple, from no time traveling hypothesis that exists can SJ remember things he never lived.

Grandma with dementia also remembers things that never happened. Also Sol's brother is playing the lottery numbers…
It looks like the murderer is still going to hurt him somehow because you know, fate, and he'll remember everything. Idk how she'll save him this time but we'll see, 2 more episodes in which the entire story will unfold because fuck the 12 previous ones lol.

lol, they said "look she went back in the past before they met, also she moved" and that's it. We don't even know about anything she did in this "timeline" from a past POV. How did she convince everyone to move ? Who knows. Did she give her brother the numbers ? Who knows. Did she date Tae Sung ? Who knows. None of the things we saw in the past 12 episodes exist anymore and so they can do whatever they want by saying "oh, it happend....off screen". And don't expect ANY sort of explanation for the grandma haha.

Nice writing.

But it didn't though. That's the whole point of her never meeting him, it never happend to 2023 episode 14 him.

Finally someone who's annoyed by the nonsense. If you change the rules of time travel all the time is simply bad…
Clearly, they always come up with whatever they want every episode lol.
I get that it's not suppose to be looked at with a microscope because who cares in the romcom kdrama world about actual logic, but still, if you want to add some time travel, do it right, it's the bare minimum.
The whole plot of the show is about time travel, more than it is about the lovestory, they could have made an effort imo.

Technically she can only remember if she travels to an alternative universe that is the same as the one she came from. Then she didn't really traveled in time, she traveled in space, and she can remember things that she saw. But as seen in this show, she doesn't travel in space, her soul travels in time (since she ends up in her past version's body). So she shouldn't be able to remember the future that she initially came from. Idk where her past's soul goes when she's in the past btw, apparently they can co-exist with one staying dormant ? The sould being the one traveling creates the Hitler's paradoxe, in the sense that if she prevents his death she technically shouldn't have any reason to ever go back in the past so it cancels out. The rules in this show about the time travel are weird really, they just do whatever they want.
But since SJ is not a time traveler and his sould didn't travel and he has only lived this one life of his, there is no reason for him to have any memory of the aborted timelines.

But I don't think they really cared about any of it when they wrote the thing, they just decided to leave the technicalities on the side to write whatever they wanted, which imo is not the most professionel thing you can do, but well, I'm not surprise when it comes to kdramas.

oh look, the infamous amnesia trope with a twist....
seriously, this is literally not possible for him to remember something that never happend, please, what is this ?
and yeah I know, time travel isn't possible either, but can we still get some actual logic for once ?
as for the murderer, as seen in the preview of next week's episode, he only exists to "spice" things up in the plot but how many time will this be ? the third ? the fourth ?

No free refills, she no longer has the watch. She wasn't wearing it when she pressed the button and the only reason…
Honestly the time traveling is messed up and there are too much paradoxes so I can't even debate on it because the logic is never the same frome one episode to another. You might be right then, we'll see.

Dropping this now it's definitely the biggest disappointment of 2024 so far for me. The drama started out so brilliantly…
Hard agree on the gthe absence of personality outside of being in love with each other.
The writing is not as good as expected. And like, if you like that's fine, but people are finding excuses here when it's just not that good. The time travel thing doesn't even make sense, the logic is never the same from one episode to another. 12 episode of time traveling so she can fix his death and in the end going back a bit earlier in the past solved it all, and it was shown in like 5mn... I don't mind it in theory, she tried it all, it didn't work and in the end the only solution is to erase herself from his life, but they could have done a better job at writing it.
Now he never met her but they want to have him remember events that never happend just so that they can still have their share past ? After erasing it all ? What for ?

I also would have enjoyed the suicidal side better but then it would be hard to explain why she can go back in the past. He died because of her and she gets a chance to save him? If it was just suicide, the question would have been why her ? I know I would have asked it and would have been annoyed at the evident no answer lol.

You described the summary for episode 14, it's what's going to happen which is stupid btw because how can you…
There is no alternative timelines in this show actually, that's not how they decided to go with when it comes to the time travel so there is no reason for him to be able to remember. Like, it's literally impossible T_T
As for the unrealistic part, it's not because something is unrealistic that it means they can just do whatever they want and forget all logic. The logic they used since the beginning can't allow him to remember.
