I understand the disappointment, especially for koreans LGBT, representation matter and 70mn format is no 30mn format, the budget is clearly not the same either, but honestly that would have been very surprising.
I haven't read the webtoon, but LBGT or straight, if the romance was between the 47yo gangster and the HS student, I wouldn't have been able to get behind it to be honest.

I haven't watched this one yet, the straight washing complaints are justified. and I get it, it sucks.
But no amount of complaints on MDL will ever financially impact the production.
You either watch it on illegal services to not give a penny to them, or you don't. At the end of the day, the kdrama will air all its episodes.

SK is not there yet when it comes to LGBT representation. They are not even there when it comes to representation of women either, it's like misogyny is not a thing over there when you watch kdramas, it's all lalaland, but we know how bad it really is for korean women.
One of the cast member is literally a sex offender, look at him still getting roles.
SK might not have a ban on SS couples, but it's not a really pro LGBT country either, so the straight washing is not surprising. Only small productions do it and it's because they've seen how much money BL fetichism does Thailand make. Fetichism that a lot of people here don't seem to care about btw, but that's another subject.

Anyway, no need to fight, the story won't change. You either watch it, or you don't.

Lovely runner had a whole love story between a 34 yo and a 19 yo and it's among the top kdrama of MDL, people don't seem to care here.

Honestly I get wanting to escape reality and all but they try too hard to make the male lead perfect and knowing how korean men are, but more generally how men are, it becomes too unrealistic and I can't get in the story.
I hope BWS will go for more vilain roles in the future, but more importantly morally grey main lead role. Give me some anti hero trope, please 😭

Yeah he was obsessed with her in the first timeline but then she went back and erased SJ's memory and we have no idea about what happend afterward... Apparently she never met him so he never obsessed over her which would have been enough really, no need to erase all of SJ's memory, just never meet the killer and that's it. I don't even understand what was the point of having him come back in the story at the end. But you know, as a precaution they still killed him, ok, whatever.
I agree with you, the way they handled their vilain was bad.

I stopped watching romcom so I believe you with your exemples but since many people don't really care, well the writers don't either. Good vilains will mainly be find in thrillers for this is the point of the genre. In this case I don't think there was much of a story for the killer, he just fixated on IS and that's it. Some people just kill for the sake of it, no deeper story. But I agree that since he took so much space in the plot, it would have been nice to actually have some depth in his character.

He really was there as a tool to part the two MC so that we could have the whole "I love you, but wait we can't be together, but wait we can, but wait let me save you, but wait forget me". The whole purpose of the vilain is to drive the love story plot, it's always like that in romcom, they never actually do something good with their vilains.

I'm not a fan of the show in the end but even I can see that in its category, that kdrama is probably one of the best for fans of this genre that came out in the last few years.
We got the typical romcom ending so if you're fan of this genre you should definitely watch it, I think it's easy going to be in the top 3 of everyone who love this type of cute love stories.


The second part of the show was clearly not as good as the first part for me, a lot of unanswered questions on my part, too much plot holes, a wasted vilain, but well. It's my fault really, I knew I wouldn't like itbecause I'm not a fan of this genre and they don't usually give too much thoughts to anything that isn't the love story in these kind of scenarios. It's clear that the only focus here is the love story but I'm a fan of time traveling plot so of course I'd give it a try :)
The chemistry between the two actors really drove the show at first but it simply wasn't enough anymore for me at some point and I had to fast forward a lot of scenes by the end of it.
But it's ok, I'm watching a great show right now haha!

She said any seasons thought, so she didn't come back to 2023.

Sorry I meant 2009. The year she was on the cliff, that's where the watch would take her back, if one assumes that since she triggered it in 2009 then it's the year she should be send back. It's the only explanation as to how she said that multiple seasons passed in 2023. Why would the watch send her to a futur year that is irrelevant to her time travel ? It also allows her to live her life in the new time-line and not miss out on her niece growing for exemple. But then again, they make their own rules with the TT so she might actually have come back later than 2009, who knows.

I assumed that she came back to 2013, which is the year she activated the first try the second time, and lived from then on. There is no other way for her to be back to 2023 anyway. But assumptions here are worth nothing since the writers do whatever they want.
You assume the watch is different in 2013, but from my pov, it's the same watch. There is no reason to believe it's not.
