I caught up to EP 18, hand to the forehead. why? We get a pair of shoes? A hug? Sorry but even in Disney movies we see more action than that lolz

Hwa In, girl stop allowing people to take advantage of your kindness. Grow a backbone please, and stop forgiving everyone before they even learned their lesson. Stop apologizing for the million of times.

BaWu mother is the fakest and slimiest piece of work in the drama, at least the king and DaeYeop father and the court lady Kim is consistent with their antagonist ways but seeing her fawn over princess after being a monster in law is such fakery and Hwa In being generous and obedient to her throughout is too much. Her saintly ways is too cringe. BaWu mother is crossing boundaries with her pushing them to have children so soon. Can you at least act like a real mother and spend time with your son? Don’t you have like around 20 years of catch-up? Also can you be a good mother in law and get to know your daughter in law after treating her poorly for so long? They’re humans not farm animals that needs to reproduce quickly lolz

BaWu and DaeYeop should be endgame lolz

The king and DaeYeop father has so much screen time, they should be the main figures of the drama poster while BaWu, Hwa In, and DaeYeop should be all the way in the back lolz If they don’t both die at the end of this drama, I will be infuriated lolz

The writer and the director needs to improve in their craftsmanship, the way some scenes are stitched and edited is so lopsided and unnatural. The writing is just abysmal. If the writer loves politics so much, they should just do a pure political drama next time around and don’t deceive us with clips of romance and grand adventures.

Also why is BaWu against beautiful women in ep 1? His ex-wife is conventional/ordinary in looks lolz

I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that a princess is raised more severely to follow Confucian teachings than other women in that society. I read and watch my fair share of history works in different countries including Korean works, and I see princesses and other women from all areas of society who defy so called social norms. Many of them them only provide lip service, they don’t 100 percent devotedly follow such teachings. Also this is a fictional drama, many of the things that happens in this drama is unrealistic, so why should we expect the titular female character to supposedly be “realistic” whatever that means? Lolz Her getting “bossam” is already unrealistic. The writer is just awful and gave the talented actress a dull, boring role that should be an extra or cannon fodder character not as a main character.

I agree with you on most points. Hwa In is the perfect wife, according to Christianity, but sometimes she acts…
I explained earlier that someone who apologize for everything when it isn’t their fault and being submissive to both men and women isn’t a strong character. I don’t care what era she’s in, there’s women who stand for themselves in every era and there’s meek women in every era, including present day. Imagine if every man or woman kept the status quo? There would be no progress in the world lolz

A few, few scenes is not enough to describe her as a strong woman. So I disagree

I totally agree, it’s bewildering lolz They literally should have place the tag politics before “historical drama and romance” lolz For a drama that has some violent bloody scenes and a few episodes that featured erotic novels, they sure went chaste and primary school romance for the main couple lolz

Apparently, none of the other women in the drama followed such teachings just her, so she’s the only realistic person in the drama? lolz hence no inner strength.

Yes I agree, I wish they made her character more useful than just being an obedient lover, wife, mom, daughter and so forth. There’s very little growth or excitement in her character although in the beginning her character story had potential. Her character is more of a cannon fodder than female lead material, which is disappointing. I don’t skip the political components but if I did, there isn’t much leftover lolz I try really hard to follow but do tune out though lolz I wish the romance was developed better and given more scenes and substance. After a user below mentioned that they see strong romantic chemistry between the male leads, I did a double take and I agree lolz Thank you for sharing your thoughts

Sorry, someone who blames themselves most of the time amd apologize when they’re not at fault and saying I’m the sinner does not have inner strength.

Yes, yes! BaWu mother was just rescued and all she can do is think about her social status? She doesn’t even try to make time to get to know BaWu or have quality time with him after being separated for many years, since childhood lolz. I looked at the genre on this site and it said romance, so I expected much romance, even from the teasers. I felt misleaded. Thank you for your thoughts

Someone planted the idea of BaWu and DaeYeop, and there’s no going back. I ship them more than the OTP lolz

This drama drags so much, you can cut so many scenes and can still understand what’s going on if you wanted to. I’m slowly catching up in this drama. It’s mind numbingly boring and slow, I disagree with the comments that says there’s sufficient romance. I’m not biased to any actor in this drama, so believe me when I say romance is only 5 percent in the drama and that political theater is 95 percent lolz I still don’t know when and how BaWu and Hwa In gotten together, did I miss the confession scenes? I’m behind in the drama but I only recall them saying they miss each other and that they are the blame for all the woes in the drama lolz

BaWu mother is a goose that needs to be eaten alongside with BaWu ex wife lolz

Hwa In annoys me with every scene, she’s too meek and forgiving. Can you not be a rug for people to trample on each episode?

With the way the writing is going, this should have been a mini series with 4 episodes or a 2 hour tv movie.

One of many inconsistencies. They let ChaDol enter the palace with Hwa In after she claimed he was with her although they needed an ID for each individual in an earlier episode lolz

The writer, I don’t understand what he/she is doing? Politics is 95 percent of this drama and many of the characters are inconsistent. So many things happens because the writer says so. Too many conveniences and unnecessary scenes. It doesn’t deserve 20 episodes.

The king and brother in law father is always taking turns each episode trying to get back at each other. It’s so dreadfully mundane. I hope both meet a terrible demise at the end. It’s a recycle and repeat each episode with them trying to up and outdo each other lolz

Hwa In, can you for once stop blaming yourself for almost every single problem? Girl, you’re not the problem, stop saying you’re a sinner. One of the weakest female leads I’ve watched, not just physically but mentally and emotionally weak.

What’s the point of chadol? Who is taking care of him throughout the second half of this drama? He’s like a cameo appearance now but it’s fine since he was such a weepy crybaby lolz

Now we have overbearing mother and diva-like sister to deal with. If I was Hwa In, I would smash their faces every time they smirk or make one of those snarky remarks about what a lowly woman she is due to her “inferior” social background lolz.

Brother-in law can you please just wipe your hands clean from your trashy family, disown them completely already. Can you just run away with your aunt and find a girl who deserves your affections?

BaWu, please stop acting based on your emotions alone, think clearly, and can you comfort your girl properly? When Hwa In starts to wail and blame herself for every single woe in their life, can you please speak reason to her? You allowed her to carry the mantle of being the fault of everything by not correcting her lolz

Can the romance be written better in this drama? It’s so lacking and their sweet moments are placed in weird transitions. There’s very little, natural build-up.

I blame the writer and the director for underutilizing a great cast overall. One of the weakest dramas in a long time.

I don’t understand why he/she is calling people trolls when everyone is generally just being innocent with their comments. They could have just nicely explain about the Viki and the subbing process without lecturing at them and looking down at them lolz Viki business model should be revamped. It’s almost like they are hired by them as their publicist lolz

Youre right !!!i keep watching for the princess cause she is doing a good job.
Thank you for support! I try to be fair and open-minded. The actress behind princess is doing a great job. I think most of the cast has great acting, I only think it’s the writer who is not doing a great job exploring and developing the characters and writing too many dull political scenes.

I’m typically a silent reader on this site but I got curious and scroll down and read all the comments. Although…
Thank you, when particular people accused me of being immature, I laugh because have they not read their own comments and those comments that agree with them? Immaturity beyond mountains Lolz

It’s almost frightening how people idolize and justify fictional characters like it’s their bible lolz They add their own fantasy and explanations that doesn’t even exist and wouldn’t make sense in the real world much less in a drama. Everyone who does their investigation knows that they only justify and protect BaWu because of their love for Jung Woo. I’ve been here since Day 1 of this forum, so I know. I read lolz

They insult me with name-calling because they have no solid ground to stand on. Sometimes I bother not to respond back directly under their comments because they like to throw a tantrum because they disagree with my comments. And then they try to feel vindicated by hoping others will team up and agree with them.

They showed how little they are when they stayed silent when their fellow “I dislike brother in law” club member starts to hurl insults and even likes their messages in support LOLz

This comment section is hilarious. So when a user realized he/she went too far, instead of humbling themselves/apologizing or admitting their folly… they edit their posts hoping no one will realize it lolz

I see a good number of lackeys supporting those who like to name-call people and hurl personal insults by calling them uneducated, jobless, unintelligent, a despicable person who is more hateful (3x) than any actions the titular character have done (who knew expressing my opinions is more hateful than a fictional character who attempted to murder, mistreats his son, and sold a lady…lolz) And the thing is I never hurled personal insults unlike a certain user despite us having differing opinions. Sadly no one called them out on that. Even if you agree with their opinion, you shouldn’t support their insults. The internet can be a cold, lonely place lolz

If you can’t handle differing opinions without insulting others with personal, uncalled for digs unrelated to this drama, then that speaks volumes on you. And those who glee and support their comments of personal insults on the sidelines, that speaks volume on you as well.

If I want to express my opinions, even if it’s unpopular, leave me alone and if you want to respond back, do so in a more mature manner pls or not at all lolz

I see where you’re going but the thing is that this is a fictional work and not a pure documentary, and so many artistic liberties are taken. Every viewer is watching this drama with modern lens while understanding that it’s a historical work. It’s very difficult to accurately pinpoint what would or would not happen in the past especially a drama that is completely made up especially since none of us are from that era or expertises in that field of historical studies. We are generally all causal drama viewers. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

And yes every drama has its shallow moments lolz
