I'm the only one here still enjoying the drama dispite the older problems ? This comment section is so dead. Now,…
The companies wasted their time trying to make viewers happy by replacing actor and not cancelling the drama but people don’t appreciate and take it for granted. The ratings in Korea is still the same no matter what happened, controversy or no controversy. Poor studios.
One of the better dramas that is currently on air but this comment section is more quiet than a convent on a weekday lol People say they will support this drama after what it been through but the lack of noise proves otherwise. Kind of like people saying they will pray for you but they forget and they don’t lol
It's actually based on the novel Princess Pyeonggang which is inspired from the folktale but rewrites the whole…
At the end of the day, it’s just perspectives. If you don’t like her becoming a warrior or not, nothing is going to change your mind.
If you don’t want her to be a general as well, whatevers lol she could had become a magician later on in life or a painter, it really doesn’t matter. I don’t get the point of disliking her becoming a general as well but you do you lol
Princess was given a background story why she becomes an assassin, the chief assassin kidnapped her, mind-wiped her and wanted to use her as his blade of redemption against the king and royalty. We don’t yet know why he has this passion but we shall see. It’s not like she automatically became an assassin.
Obviously there are some similarities to other characters but not to the point of her becoming an exact mold. There’s so many subtle differences. I can argue that most male and females leads in dramas in general share similarities. There’s common drama tropes in every drama.
I’m too bored to keep going back and forth lol good bye, live joyfully :)

I watched my fair share of “Korean” historical dramas and the princess character is unique in comparison to most female leads. Seeing a female princess character being trained as an assassin and manipulated to kill her father, I have not seen.
Crediting ondal accomplishments to princess is what happened in the folktale too. She was the one that trained him and teach him how to read and write. It’s kind of strange seeing you hug a fairy tale as a bible when there’s no historical accords to support it.

If you don’t like how they Adapted sure you do you lol What makes the princess in the folktale more interesting than the drama version? She was known as a crybaby when she was younger. That’s the only noticeable difference.

It’s up to the drama team how they want to adapt it but the few details in the folktale is not really based (mostly fiction) on real life. The drama technically kept the detail that he has a mother(foster mom), that he will become a great general thanks to princess, and that he will die in one of the battles(maybe we will see on last episode), and that he has a great, deep love for the princess. The other details in the folktale isn’t significant at all. The heart of the kids story is the love not social mobility although it does show that as well.

Um most historical records from this time era are missing or destroyed. The folklore is mostly made up children story for the most part. There’s actually very little info on the princess. They don’t actually know her real name. You’re making it sound they went off track from an intelligent story/source when you talk about social mobility when the short story is so simple. It’s kind of like Mulan movie, it was adapted from a Ballad. It’s literally 99 percent fiction. They could make the princess in this drama a mostly evil character until the end of the drama and it wouldn’t matter because there’s literally no info on her.
I literally feel fml and sml make an amazing pair idk but I feel ...if this is not based on the novel they could've…
It’s based both on novel and folktale and writer imagination. He was never a real fool, he always had potential and his wife trains him to fight better and to be a great general and educated him
seems like we won't be seeing On Dal that much now. I've watched the seventh episode and I saw him for like 2…
It’s the beginning of the palace scenes, so it was already expected that ondal wasn’t going to appear much on episode 7. Because there’s no real reason for him to be in the palace as of yet.

If it’s true, that’s a surprise and they worked really hard to make it happen.
