I really enjoyed the series, but I’m honestly pretty annoyed that Singha told King they could still be friends. Sure, King changed a little, but I still don’t like him. It felt way too similar to that scene in My Magic Prophecy where Thap forgave Kan for literally trying to kill him and then said they could still be friends. I just don’t buy that.
At least King, like Kan, admitted they should grow apart, which was actually the most reasonable thing they ever said. And unlike Kan, King actually followed through. Kan, on the other hand, was apparently still going to be friends with Thap, even though he was way worse than King. But whatever... (ㆆ_ㆆ)
The thing is, King wasn’t just a jerk, he was a corrupt cop like his father, and he even tried to manipulate Singha, threatening him to be “his” again. That was awful and unforgivable to me. And it reminded me of Pit Babe season 1: Way assaulted Babe, yet after he died, people still thought tenderly of him. At least Way sacrificed himself protecting them, so there was some kind of closure. I’m not saying he got full redemption (what he did was still terrible) but at least he got some consequence of his actions, wich King didn't?!?!?!!? This whole “everyone gets redeemed and forgiven” trope is starting to really bug me. ( ̄へ ̄)
Not every character needs redemption. Some people should face real consequences and live with them. They can change, sure, and live better lives without hurting others after, but that doesn’t mean everyone else has to forgive and forget. And honestly, they shouldn’t. (╬▔皿▔)╯
That’s what annoyed me most about this series. I gave My Magic Prophecy a 9 because of that issue, Pit Babe season 1 a 9.5 for the same reason, and now Goddess Bless You From Death gets a 9 too, partly because of this and partly because of the reckless cops and their lack of danger awareness that drove me nuts. Still, I had a great time watching it, and I can’t wait for The Grim Lover. The casting is always spot-on. Overall, a really good series. ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ
I dare myself to death, for having watching it until this far!The sound quality, I barely heard anything in some…
I might be wrong here, but since the story is based on a novel, isn’t the character named Jade in it as well? It seems unlikely that the name was chosen after the director. Of course, I’ve seen cases like that before, for example, in Supernatural, one of the characters is Robert ‘Bobby’ Singer, named after the producer. Still, I don’t really see an issue with characters and real people sharing names. It’s actually pretty common. Even in families, names can overlap, my older sister was once married to a man who had the same name as our father, so my niece has her grandfather and father with the same names! ¯\(ツ)/¯
That said, I don’t want to dismiss your point. Honestly, I also don’t understand why Champ and Tonkla weren’t imprisoned, given the evidence of Tonkla causing a fatal crash and both of them hiding the body. Maybe I missed something, or I just don’t recall how that plotline was resolved...
Jade and Kamin found Puifais Dare Letter last episode behind the photo. But the letter was unlike the others.…
Unless… Jay’s the culprit. He liked Puifai, so he could’ve had the same motives as Champ (ㆆ_ㆆ). Or maybe it’s both of them? Champ sends her the letter to kill herself because of the baby, then she tells Jay about it, and then Jay tries to avenge her by sending similar letters to the others since he doesn't know who sent the first one…
Okay... yep ...I’m spiraling into overthinking again >︿<
Welp, it wouldn't make sense since the partner of the one who killed Tonkla hit Jay... if he was the culprit.... nevermind....
Jade and Kamin found Puifais Dare Letter last episode behind the photo. But the letter was unlike the others.…
I thought about that too for a moment. At first, I suspected her as well. But since I tend to overthink everything, this time I’m going with the most obvious choice. I could be, well, probably am, 10000% wrong anyway! (●'◡'●)
Jade and Kamin found Puifais Dare Letter last episode behind the photo. But the letter was unlike the others.…
I appreciate your reply, I totally missed that before! Still, it kinda makes me even more suspicious of Champ, don’t you think? Maybe he was mad at her for ending what he thought was his baby. (ง •_•)ง And thinking further… he might’ve killed Puifai and covered it up by bribing the forensic doctor who did her autopsy at that other lab. (っ °Д °;)っ Unless, of course, she really did take her own life…
Since everyone’s throwing out theories, (Even JoongDunk in their reaction videos), I’ll throw mine in too. Honestly, I have zero clue about the actual plot of the novel, so this is just me piecing things together from the show. And yeah, I might be misinterpreting some stuff because the translation isn’t always spot-on, but here goes:
I think the killer(s) has to be someone from inside the Avengers. I mean, how else would they know everyone’s secrets like that? (Unless all that drama somehow leaked online, which feels unlikely.)
If it is someone from the Avengers, my bet is on Champ. Do I have solid evidence? Not really. But here’s my reasoning: he wears those glasses that give me major Tony Stark vibes, the name of their group is "The avengers" and since I think Iron Man has this strong sense of justice, Champ could be aswell trying to "avenge" things (Himself, Puifai and "their" baby). But he gives major antihero vybe. So it makes me think Champ could be punishing everyone for their bad behavior. Ok, it doesn't make much sense, but pretend it does! (‾◡◝) And I think he not only feels like he is free to do whatever since his father is very "powerful" and can get him out of trouble, he also can have some "help", as we saw previously that the killer has.
Now, I’m not totally sure about the whole “Champ cheated on Puifai with Cherreen” thing. I didn’t fully catch that part, and if it’s true, it would be kind of weird for him to be the avenger killer. But then again, there’s that letter one girl got, angry about her taking Puifai to get an abortion, and Champ could’ve been the father, right? That’s suspicious. Plus, the killer was furious about the guy who assaulted Puifai, so there’s definitely a personal angle there.
As for Puifai’s death, I don’t think the killer was behind it. It feels more like an accident or maybe someone else entirely. What makes me think that is the fact her autopsy wasn’t done at the lab of that doctor who’s into Kamin. So we don’t know if she had the same traces of drugs in her blood like the others. And I don’t remember her ever getting a “truth or dare” letter either, unless I missed it, or they just haven’t found it yet.
Anyway, that’s my messy theory. Anyone else got thoughts? (And if you’ve read the novel, please skip, no spoilers, thanks!) ( ̄y▽ ̄)╭ Ohohoho.....
Omg you pavel look so sweet and innocent while Pooh looking like a badass I’m to thirsty
This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for! They’re such versatile actors, but until now their roles, while excellent, have leaned toward similar types. Charlie and Thup were adorably cute and sweet, while Babe and Singha brought a fierce, charming energy. Now we finally get to see Pavel’s softer, cuter side and Pooh’s powerful, fierce presence!
First thing I gotta say is that Tae Chayapat (Fah) reminds me so much of Pond Naravit, especially their mouth and teeth, they look super similar! I get that same vibe with First Kanaphan and Max Kornthas too (‾◡◝).
I liked the story right away. I’m used to watching sports anime, which is one of my favorite genres, so finding this series made me happy. The only thing is, I usually get frustrated with the last couple of episodes in most shows. Like with Head2Head, God bless you from death, it started strong but it’s hard for series to keep that same energy until the end, let alone surpass it with a powerful finale. You’re My Sky is kinda the same. Still a great series though.
What really annoyed me first was Vee and Dome. Their relationship was messy, one being the brother of the other’s girlfriend and still getting involved. I’ve seen this type of thing before in Zomvivor with Non and San, but at least there it didn’t go too far into romance, at least not in the first part. To me, falling for your sibling’s or friend’s romantic partner is just messed up. If you find them attractive, the least you can do is keep your distance or not pay attention to them when you’re around. That’s why I got so frustrated with Vee and Dome. The good thing is that Dome didn't 'cheat', since he broke up with Vee's sister before getting too involved with Vee, but the flirting was already too much to me. At least Vee realized how wrong it was and didn’t drag it further untill his sister approved and pushed him torwards Dome again. If they had ended up together, I would’ve been mad, so props to the script for making him realize that and keep some distance for a considerate time, I think almost a whole year apart?!
When I rate a series, I really pay attention to the characters’ actions. If someone does something I don’t like or agree with and end up not having much consequence, I take points off. That’s just how I rate things. A few examples:
My Magic Prophecy: Kan literally tried to kill Thap, yet the script still had everyone caring for him, forgiving him, and keeping him around as a “friend.” It felt like they gave him redemption just because he regretted his actions, which I didn’t buy at all.
Head 2 Head: Van “almost” cheated on Farm the very night after asking him to be his boyfriend. Then Farm just accepted his weak apologies, only for Van to mess up again in the following days. Even though Van started to change for the better later, for me, once trust is broken, there’s no going back.
Our Skyy 2 "Star in My Mind": I didn’t like that Kluen kissed Nuea while he was sleeping when they weren't even dating yet. That crossed a line for me, so I took one point off.
Now, about Fah and Torn. Wich was the most frustrating relationship to me at the end:
Torn was hurt because Fah did the exact same thing he had done years ago, when Torn didn’t make the team and Fah pushed him away. This time it was worse, because Torn was physically and emotionally hurt and they were dating. At first, I was disappointed in Torn for blocking and ghosting Fah without talking it out, especially since they were living together. But it didn't take me long to realise that he kinda did what Fah had done to him before. That conversation Fah had with Shane (I think that’s his name) on the basketball court really got to me. He was being all dramatic again, saying maybe he should quit playing because of Torn, like the 10,000th time he’s said that, even though Torn had already told him he didn’t want him to quit and that he supported him. Fah just couldn’t see that saying stuff like that was making Torn even more upset, because it made Torn feel like a burden.
Then Fah started complaining that he couldn’t stay, couldn’t quit, couldn’t play with anyone, and that nobody ever asked him what he wanted. That made me mad, because honestly, it was his fault for not being able to express himself properly. And it wasn’t even true, the real issue was that he couldn’t balance his personal life with his professional life. He wanted everything, but he couldn’t manage it all. He wanted Torn to just sit there waiting for him whenever he needed him, without realizing he was mistreating him, overlooking him, and taking him for granted.
When Fah said, “Is that person really the right one for me?” and Torn replied, “I wonder the same, are WE the right ones FOR EACH OTHER?” I was so glad Torn finally answered back. It made Fah realize he wasn’t the only one hurting. Like Kelly Clarkson sings in Because of You: “You never thought of anyone else, you just saw your pain.”
Overall, I’d give the series a 9/10. The last couple of episodes were hard for me to watch, not because they were bad, but because I was frustrated that Fah couldn’t see how much he was hurting Torn. Fah was the one who pulled Torn into his life as a kid, introduced him to basketball, taught him, promised to be his duo and chase their dream together. Then he just pushed Torn aside once and twice, and the team did the same. That moment when they were drinking beer together and didn’t invite Torn, even though he was sitting right there at the other table, really hurt. Torn is too sweet, and even when he smiled and said “you guys are mean,” I know he was hurting, but the others didn’t notice or didn’t care.
Torn deciding to join that evil coach frustrated me at first, especially after everything that guy had said to him. But I think Torn just got tired of being too nice and getting nowhere. He was already hurt, so nothing the coach said could hurt him more. I don’t blame Torn, I blame the others for not realizing how bad things were for him and abandoning him when he needed them most. He even told Fah that if he ended up alone, it would be because people pushed him away, not because he chose it. And that was true, since he was the one putting in the most effort in their relationships.
What frustrated me the most was that in the end Torn thought he was the one being a jerk, when to me he was only reacting to how the others treated him. He changed because they changed with him, they started treating him like he wasn’t part of the team anymore, and when he began acting on his own, they were suddenly surprised. He was stressed, because he needed to stop being so gentle and actually push his way through, and when he did that, people got upset because they wanted him to stay forever soft and just accept their bad behavior.
In episode 11, the other team, including Fah, were way more aggressive, but when Torn did the same, they acted shocked and disappointed. And Shane, I think that’s his name, pretended to be supportive and understanding of Torn when talking to Fah, but then in the game he was making fun of Torn right to his face, in front of everyone, even after seeing how stressed and frustrated Torn was.
And still, at the end of the episode, the only one who realized his own “bad actions” was Torn, while everyone else, including his own team, ended up thinking they were the ones being mistreated.
About Saen and Aai: Honestly, it is kinda comical how Aai acted like Saen was the most annoying person alive, when in reality it was the total opposite. It gave me big déjà vu of Duean (Neo) and Meen (Louis) in Fish Upon the Sky. Same energy: Aai and Duean treating Saen and Meen badly just ‘cause they were clingy. Like… hello? They were literally showing interest, and you guys instead of just talking it out and setting boundaries, just tried to push them away by being mean. And of course, that backfired. To me, it just made them look straight-up rude. They weren’t clear about their own feelings, so they dumped all that confusion on the other person.
And don’t even get me started on the ending. Aai annoyed me so much when Saen gave him that ring box with the little ring drawing. That was cute symbolism, plus the real gift was their trip back to Japan together. But nope, Aai had to ruin it by being mean again and jumping to conclusions, classic him. That’s his biggest flaw honestly: he never listens first, just assumes the worst. He’s basically Babe from Pit Babe all over again. Like bro, calm down and just hear him out! คุณฟังเขาก่อนสิ (╬▔皿▔)╯
At least he admitted after that he’s terrible with words. But still… Saen and Meen, I seriously wish I had your patience levels. In reality, I’ve got Lego’s (LYKN) tissue-thin patience with everyone except Nut.
Why do y’all like Vee and Dome they both suck. Dome was in a relationship with Vees SISTER. And vee is no better…
I understand you. When I figured they would develop feelings for each other, it really annoyed me. Their relationship was messy, one being the brother of the other’s girlfriend and still getting involved. I’ve seen this type of thing before in Zomvivor with Non and San, but at least there it didn’t go too far into romance, at least not in the first part. I actually loved how it ended. The fact that they didn’t just jump into being together right away, and that he waited till his sister was ok with it and actually pushed him to be with Dome because she understood he was sorry and that his feelings torwards Dome were true.
Ending the show just hinting that they’ll slowly grow closer again in the end was great. He took time to process his feelings and deal with the guilt of being with his sister’s ex, almost like he was punishing himself a bit, and Dome too, so they both had to earn their ‘redemption.’
It takes time to work through dilemmas like that, but most series just speed everything up. Honestly, I think that was pretty mature of him.
after episode 3 ish it got wayy better I just had to get past it lmao (except for some parts at the end kinda…
For me, up until episode 11 I was flying through it, I was really enjoying it. After that I struggled a bit, like you said, some parts got kind of annoying and frustrating. But overall, it was still great, I really like the series!
this show had its issues and some of those issues annoyed tf out of me, but still i loved this 😅 story was…
I actually loved how it ended. The fact that they didn’t just jump into being together right away, but instead the show hinted they’d slowly grow closer again in the end, really showed how much Vee respects his sister, himself, and Dome. He took time to process his feelings and deal with the guilt of being with his sister’s ex, almost like he was punishing himself a bit, and Dome too, so they both had to earn their ‘redemption.’ And it wasn’t just a quick break either, they stayed apart for almost a year if I am not mistaken. That was my favorite part, because the script didn’t rush their arcs. It takes time to work through dilemmas like that, but most series just speed everything up. Honestly, I think that was pretty mature of him. If he had gotten with Dome right away, I would’ve felt bad for his sister.
Whoa the first episode really, really suck. That stupid thing at the start took like half the episode, is off…
I actually had the opposite reaction to that part, I love it, I felt like it captured the spirit of a real reception, with seniors warmly welcoming the new students. I thought it was fun and endearing! And major props to the actress who played the ‘host’ of the event, she was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole series. She is really cute and pretty!
Yes I did, I don't recall the order of the events, what I tried to say is that he is a Jerk afterall... It's just that the part with Singha was what came first im my mind! I don't remember if they explained this part first, of him trying to pin charges on an innocent man, or after that talking with Singha. Let's say, whatever came first, made me realise he doesn't deserve simpathy!
I’ve said before that I’d overlook the cops’ reckless behavior, after all, bad cops exist in real life, and here they’re up against supernatural forces. But I take that back. I’m officially annoyed. Episode 11 had me raging at my screen! King and Singha should be far more cautious, far more aware of the danger. They’re cops!
Tell me, when entering a dangerous place, is it ever acceptable to split up just to “speed things up”? Absolutely not, even for trained officers with weapons. And it’s even worse to leave an unarmed civilian completely alone!!! That’s beyond reckless...
Let’s not forget: they’re facing a serial killer and ghosts. Going off alone in that situation? No way. No excuse. (っ °Д °;)っ
I know I’m tilted, but seriously… STILL!!!!!!!!!!! (ㆆ_ㆆ) Singha, Thup and King, I have some proverbs to hammer into your brains. Repeat after me:
A pressa é a inimiga da perfeição. Devagar se vai ao longe. Mais vale perder um minuto na vida do que a vida em um minuto Apressado come cru. Quem tudo quer depressa, nada alcança. `(*>﹏<*)′
The literal translation of the Brazilian proverbs: Haste is the enemy of perfection. Slowly one goes far. It is better to lose one minute in life than life in one minute. The hurried eats raw. Who wants everything quickly, achieves nothing.
About ep 12: If I was Jerome and recieved that one letter, I would be DEVASTATED for the REST OF MY LIFE and wouldn't EVER celebrate my birthday ever again! I would be traumatized for real! (っ °Д °;)っ
At least King, like Kan, admitted they should grow apart, which was actually the most reasonable thing they ever said. And unlike Kan, King actually followed through.
The good thing is that Dome didn't 'cheat', since he broke up with Vee's sister before getting too involved with Vee, even though the flirting was already too much to me. At least Vee realized how wrong it was and didn’t drag it further. If they had ended up together, I would’ve been mad, so props to the script for making him realize that and keep some distance for a considerate time, I think almost a whole year apart?!
I commented something similar...
Singha, Thup and King, I have some proverbs to hammer into your brains.
Repeat after me:
A pressa é a inimiga da perfeição.
Devagar se vai ao longe.
Mais vale perder um minuto na vida do que a vida em um minuto
Apressado come cru.
Quem tudo quer depressa, nada alcança.
`(*>﹏<*)′
The literal translation of the Brazilian proverbs:
Haste is the enemy of perfection.
Slowly one goes far.
It is better to lose one minute in life than life in one minute.
The hurried eats raw.
Who wants everything quickly, achieves nothing.
