There's less of a culture of pitting women against each other now so it's decreased. It obviously still happens but I feel like it used to be way worse.

Minglan is the only drama I've rated a 10. It's perfect to me. And ZLY's acting was so understated but detailed. No other drama has even come close for me ðŸ˜
Omg I watched this back in 2018 and looking at who was in the cast now is WILD. So many huge names all in the supporting cast. It's amazing how far they've all come in their careers. I want to rewatch it now ðŸ˜

Eh it's not Chinese specific, remakes in general tend to be shit. Korean remakes in particular tend to suck the life out of the original dramas. Their Someday or One Day and A Love So Beautiful remakes made my skin crawl.

You're totally right. I'm sure I've missed out on a lot of good jdramas because the majority of the ones I've been exposed to are so anime-esque and it turned me off of them. One I did love though was Orange Days. Thank you for the recommendations! I'll definitely check them out.

Please be for real. He's mediocre at best. He needs to work on his acting and isn't on the level of many of his costars, which is why I made those comments.

People who want to box him into only boys love are deranged fangirls who need to get a grip. He's frankly, just not that good of an actor. He got very lucky to have good costars in WOH and that was his best role acting wise as well. HOWEVER, he was also good in Begin Again because his costar Zhou Yutong was so charismatic and made up for where he lacked. It's not that he only does well with men, that's a ridiculous statement made by girls with a weird BL obsession and don't want to see their geges with any women. He needs to pick better projects, work with people who bring out the best in him, and also seriously work on his own acting.
And me saying all of this is absolutely NOT blaming him for this drama being ass. The whole production was a mess and Yang Mi as his senior was worse than he was.

This isn't really an unpopular opinion lmao. Your opinion was the popular one when this drama first aired. Especially in China, everyone who isn't a crazy JJY stan echoed that sentiment.
