I think they mentioned that Dou Zhao is turning 23 and I imagine that's probably around the same age as the ML.

You're not wrong. I'm liking it but it is kind of slow and lackluster. I was expecting more so I'm a little bit disappointed. Definitely not a bad drama and I'm going to actually finish it (which has been rare for me these days) but it's not really living up to the insane hype.

It's actually crazy that a seemingly standard romcom has been shelved for so many years. PXR had so much momentum and popularity back when it was filmed too, you'd think they would have wanted to capitalize on it. Also the description talking about them working on ai, that part in the script must be so outdated now.

There's casting rumors that she'll be in a historical with Song Weilong. Definitely don't think she's retiring, just taking things slower than she did in the past.

Love of the Divine Tree was good until the flashback ended. We had such a cool FL and then they turned her into the most cliche xianxia fl ever. It wasn't badly done, but I'm definitely tired of seeing the same cheerful girl becomes disciple to stern master trope over and over again.

Finally some good fucking food.

Been starting dud after dud lately. Feud and Love of the Divine Tree majorly let me down. I'm on ep 10 and this drama has been consistently entertaining, thank god. Was about to be in a huge slump.

Oh man you just know this is going to be good. My Mister and My Liberation Notes are two of my all time favorites.

The writer and director have me pretty excited for this. The leads are both very beautiful and can usually pull off their roles so no complaints here!

But the problem is the beginning is so slow. It's the same setup as a bunch of other xianxia dramas I've seen. I know there's more to the story but it's painfully dull getting there.

Someone saying that they didn't think the ML did the best job is not hate. It's not passive aggressive either. They stated their opinion in a very straightforward way.
