This sounds promising! I really like Lin Yun. If she didn't have that scandal a few years back I feel like she'd be one of the top 95 flowers. Hope this drama helps her momentum.

"minimal intimacy" there should be NONE when one of the leads is a minor and the other is almost 30. There should be no insinuation of romance between their characters whatsoever. We see a child onscreen and then we're supposed to believe and root for her romance with a grown man? Doesn't matter if they're acting or if there's no skinship. What kind of right minded adult can watch a kid and an adult together and be anything other than disgusted when they try to make it seem like there's some kind of romance between them? It's gross. Pair her with someone close to her age or take romance out of the equation entirely.

First off, stop acting like anyone who complains about the casting is attacking the actors. No one even mentioned the actors personally, they are upset with the decision that was made.

Second. It not purely being a romance drama is not the problem. The problem is not skinship. BUT dramas with romance are about chemistry. It should be disturbing for any adult watching to see this being portrayed by a child and adult. Doesn't matter if there's skinship. We are supposed to see the leads in a romantic light. We are supposed to believe them as a couple or at least believe the romantic chemistry between them. The problem is that one of them is visibly a teenager, MUCH younger than the nearly 30 male lead. This should be a disturbing sight for any normal adult. But we're supposed to root for them? Suspend disbelief? Believe they're somehow the same age? How? All I see is a child with an adult. It's disgusting.

I have absolute faith in the leads to do these roles justice, it really all comes down to production.

She's working instead of going to school because her family needs the income not because she's older. They're all supposed to be the same age. It's first set in 1982 and the girls said they were born in the year of the rabbit so I'm assuming they were born in 1963 making them 18 or 19 depending on their birthdays. And JP missed a year so that would line up with his age.

Baicha to me looks so much like Zhu Yilong! They really look similar in this drama. Also it was driving me crazy cuz Hu Yixuan kept reminding me of someone and I couldn't figure it out. But it clicked that her eyes specifically reminds me of Han Jimin! They both have such sparkly pretty eyes.

One of the best dramas I've watched in years. Really outstanding cast and writing. I only wish we could have had more time devoted to certain plot points, some of them really flew by too quickly. Other than that, really amazing. I'm going to miss the Qiao family so much.

Medical dramas don't excite me but KJW and her team seem to have excellent judgment when it comes to selecting scripts. I've loved every drama of hers where she leads starting from back in 2017 with Fight For My Way. This will probably be another hit.

I never see clips of her or see anyone talk about her when this drama is brought up, but man do I love Sanli. I'm ten episodes in and she's my favorite. I love all of them, but I really love her. Fantastic drama so far.

Exactly. For some reason she's considered a list despite having poor acting skills and dramas with bad ratings.

A bunch of these dramas are dubbed...like the number one drama on the list, Nirvana in Fire. There's a whole section of the cast list with the voice actors.

China has done youth dramas with very young actors but also ones with older actors since forever. It's not copying hollywood. Just depends on the show.

Except for secret childhood connections, older woman/younger man is my least favorite trope. Can't lie, feels like something made for desperate older ladies. I'm not about it at all. I'm fine with a noona romance but this is mother/son territory. Yikes. It's so gross. And I would say the same if the guy was 20 years older.

Just look at the screenwriter and director and you'll know that this drama is going to be extremely high quality.

Li Yitong is one of the best actors of the 90s gen so you're seriously missing out if you cut off all of her dramas. Seriously watch Royal Nirvana (this is her best work imo), The Knockout, Dear Missy, etc. and you'll see she's actually great.
