Ha ha typical strawman "if you don't like it why don't you shut up so that we don't know that you don't like it."
This is not a fan club.
I saw first episode and about 15 min of the second. I dropped the show but couldn't remove it from the queue so I had to watch the last 10-15 min of the last episode to make it go away. It's a trick. So no, I didn't contribute much at all.

Nope and you won't gaslight me with muh sexisism. The episode where she beats up better trained bigger man was garbage because she was told to attack their vital points instead of use her strength...as if trained martial artists didn't know that. It was beyond stupid and insulting. It was literally those boneheads thought they could smite her because they were big but she knew the secret of winning which is attack their vital points that allows a mouse to take down an elephant. They knew which means they knew how to defend those vital points. It was stupid, completely choreographed for her to win because she realistically couldn't. An actual MMA would but those ladies don't like hungry cats so that's that. They have the muscle as well as all the rest. Again, it's not hard to cast an actress with the right physique but they keep casting waifs.
Also, she and her drama were as bad as Kingdom - Ashin of the North, another revenge starring a perpetually expressionless personality-free waifish female incarnation of venegence. Unlikable, unrelatable, without any likes of dislikes, single-mindedly focused on an unappealing goal, and going so overboard with punishment that it was impossible to root for her by the end. I don't know if this is Korean trope but it's become one of my pet peeves together with "they met as kids = true love" and intermibale flashbacks.
Oh and I forgot - the Romance. The non-existent romance. Lol. So.. 2 kids met each other ONCE x years ago, kissed?…
they do but Turkish dramas are that x 3. I wanted to watch some Turkish dramas and then I clicked on Episodes and More and it's 50 episodes per season with 5 seasons already! So 50 x 5 no thanks!
I definitely agree. I would choose quality over quantity any day. He's got a nice face, but he has the same facial…
If I can say something positive about him it's that he's better actor than Ahn Hyo-Seop who is the worst actor I've ever seen in my life and that's saying something. He's a big deal in Korea now thanks to the awful Lovers of the Red Sky and he is beyond terrible. In that drama, he sucks as a blind man and blows as a healthy man. I've never seen anything so bad and I've seen bad actors and bad actors.
omg....... what is wrong with these comments? no she's not the female version of song kang because unlike him,…
she's completely one-note in My Name. That's not acting. I'm sorry but wooden/expressionless =/= badass. Also, she's yet another kale salad and soy milk 0 size actress playing a character who can inexplicably beat up trained men twice and 3 times her size. Unconvincing af.
He outdid Song Kang but people won't admit it. I really like Song Kang but his range is very limited. He did not…
quoted for truth. And, for the record, since you understand but some fans may not, there's nothing wrong with being a genre actor aka staying with where your strength lies if you can't fix the weakness. Arnie wasn't the best actor in the world but no one could play Terminator better and that role is iconic. Triple Oscar winner DDL simply wouldn't cut it in such a role, massive talent or not, because no one is perfect for everything.
I definitely agree. I would choose quality over quantity any day. He's got a nice face, but he has the same facial…
I think that the reason why a number of modestly talented (I'm very generous here) actors and idol-actors, who are popular for their good looks, are lining up roles despite poor ratings of their dramas is that they generate foreign social media chatter. And those dramas do well on international platforms such as Viki and even Netflix (supposedly Nevertheless did quite well, nowhere near Squid Game or even Sweet Home but better than the Korean ratings debacle). I mean, Song Kang is literally the Netflix Golden Boy since all his dramas are either Netflix produced or Netflix carries them. So he, Rowoon, etc may be flopping at home but they have real or astroturfed following abroad and Korea has been exporting entertainment (music, TV, film) more and more every year. So I think that the industry endgame is creating an acting equivalent to BTS, a Korean acting star who is a global sensation including all important American market. Difference is, BTS actually has some merit. These actors with visuals not so much.
LMH is the king of non-con! Great analysis, seconded!
It's worth watching for LMH. I didn't like FL at all because she's a typical overacting aint-I-funny[no-you-are-not] drama FL like the ones from True Beauty, Vincenzo, etc. It's not an acting style that I appreciate. But LMH is fantastic in a bone fide star-making turn, unlike many recent star turns that aren't star turns at all, just too much astroturfed hype about an actor's visuals.
Oh and I forgot - the Romance. The non-existent romance. Lol. So.. 2 kids met each other ONCE x years ago, kissed?…
agreed. I think ideal is a short one season (no drama ever justified 16 episode format let alone 18 or 20) what's called a limited series in the West. Or, if they really want multi-seasons, each 6-8 episodes tops but preferably 6.
I definitely agree. I would choose quality over quantity any day. He's got a nice face, but he has the same facial…
well said though I think he sucked in the most basic roles too, such as Love Alarm. He was only effective in Sweet Home because the same facial expression fit his shell-shocked/emotionally stunned character. But now we know that wasn't by design ha ha. He's always expressionless and it's just that that particular role asked for it.

Not just that he's handsome which he totally is. In BOF specifically, he plays a difficult role perfectly. His character is a spoiled brat bully who is also self-deprecating which makes him endearing against all odds. Those non-con scenes are played for the audience to laugh at him because he's quite ridiculous and pathetic in his delusion that he's the hottest thing ever. And LMH nails it. I know a lot of people on MDL think he's overrated and maybe his other work wasn't up to snuff, but he's perfection in BOF, playing so many sides of the character at once. So even when he does something uh-oh you can't be totally mad cause he's making as ass of himself rather than doing something actually vile.
Brilliant review! You should post it (including addendum about romance).Yes, this was a terrible mess and I dropped…
oh speaking of Yoo Ah In, his acting as a deaf man is the real deal. And then you have this travesty of acting blind. It's so unfair. Yeah noticed that reddit comments are the story wasn't very good but OMG ML so cute OTP oooh so cute my precious babies wished the whole drama was them being so cute and in love.!!!!!
My stomach felt like I swallowed 2 tablespoons of sugar without water.
Oh and I forgot - the Romance. The non-existent romance. Lol. So.. 2 kids met each other ONCE x years ago, kissed?…
exactly. Plus did you catch that she lost sight when he gained his and then there was 5 years jump and she was fine! And the explanation was "Oh it was a miracle". LOL! How does writing this lazy get approved? it's so embarrassing.
I wouldn't be surprised if this trash got Season 2 while quality dramas like Kingdom still have no movement on Season 3 front.
wait, on what planet Jo Boa could act? Everyone acted circles around her. She was especially bad in a dual role. Jia cries, ImuJia laughs. What a distinction! :) :) :)
I don't think that these unneeded sequels need any FL but cutting Jo Boa loose is a sound decision.

lol so it had a WTF finale lmao! I saw people complain on reddit so I peeked on Viki. Apparently there's a 5 years jump where OTP has a son and they both can see (ML's acting is shockingly even worse now!). Prince Yul is now the Crown Prince but his brother Prince Smirk escaped from the prison. So the post credits scene, basically a Marvel stringer, is Crown Prince and Prince Smirk and their gangs (there were, like, 7-8 soldiers around each so hardly an army) lock swords. The end. You don't know who wins, who lives, who died, nothing! Total WTF or Prince&Prince Will Be Back in Season 2.

Oh look they are roasting this drama in comments:

Studio Dragon: Did you say more romance with a new FL?
