Like minded! I've been trying to build a list too, I swear sometimes I need that break from the same ole and Jdrama somehow fills in just by having that fresh airy look. Not sure I can put my finger on it well enough to describe it. Also not sure how they manage to maintain such an innocent look to their dramas while at the same time pulling of that "depth" to subjects that would make my mother's tongue curl backwards. XD I'll definitely check out your list. THANKS!

I agree. Also the fact that in the end he encouraged her education, even sending her off, helped to tone down the smarmy factor. One thing I note about Jdramas is that they're not afraid to toe that line and jeez, even stomp on it. Still, Jdramas that I like are so sparse, so when I find one that's well done, I embrace it.
Well .....I'm in the minority, because I thought the leads had good chemistry, forehead kisses and all! lol. :) - Except for the fact that they should have made better use of Nan (what a waste, It almost feels as if a lot of her scenes were cut). Except for the fact that the lead male's sidekick could have had an interesting story line with the mistress but didn't. (She was just fluff) and Except for the fact that Patrick cop drove me nuts with his over zealousness only to have such a lame and wimpy conclusion to his segment AND Except for the common suffering through the last few draggy episodes. .... IT'S A REALLY GOOD THAI DRAMA. Overlook all this and give it a shot. I was surprised how much I liked it. I couldn't stop watching and did a marathon ;)
From a hater to a lover, I can't believe this. I will be rewatching this time and time again :) it's…
It's dramas like this that taught me to stick a series out for at least 7 episodes even if I have to skim them, then I jump forward 5 episodes and watch/skim that, before permanently throwing in the towel. I only do this with tropes I really LOVE though. She was pretty is one of my all time favorite tropes. I watch it over and over again.
Great chemistry between the 2 leads...which in and of itself is a bit odd LOL! Chalk it up to great acting skills on whose part? You decide. -Just one of those quirky things that you should really feel odd about, but well, just can't work up enough energy to bother, so you just go with it. All of it. :) - I LIKED IT.
wow! can't wait to watch this on Netflix with my new Netflix accounts. I really heard good reviews abut the…
Okay maybe what I should have said was Kissasian already has it up with the subs. I do know they don't do their own subbing. Viki uses free public subbers as well. I'm sure the subbing politics can be worked out among all the big drama sites...Also I think subbers (God bless them!) are generous by nature and most likely will do it with or without credit. I always see people thanking subbers at the end of a drama, I do it too because without those generous, patient people I'm TOAST.

okay...however, kissasian seems to be subbing it pretty fast as they're at episode 9 fully subbed with 11 & 12 still raw. I see your point though. If I know I'm going to love a drama, I wait it out till it's completely subbed. If I start a drama that's airing just to check it out and find by episode 3 that I'm hooked, I'll ice it till it's fully subbed. I hate that cue wait feeling for dramas I fall in love with too. This drama isn't one of those for me though, so the wait isn't noticeable. In fact I'm finding It can only keep my interest for 1.5 episodes at a time. I'll finish it though, because of the cast and I'm counting on liking it more as I go along, girl power and all. :) I hope you enjoy it in January 2017, It may be one of the things that make your new year happy! hehe :)
After seeing Marriage Contract, it's hard for me to remember Uee is only second lead here. I like Lee Yo Won- Queen S., don't get me wrong and she'll probably shred this role fer sure - she's so good, but for some strange reason I keep tracking Uee more. then again I'm only on episode 3 haha :)
I hadn't been a fan of J.drama (apart from Litre of Tears and Hours of my life, both stellar)because I love RCs and what's online usually portrays an acting style I find annoying, HOWEVER, I have to admit that since I'm running thin on K.dramas and a little bored to be honest, I've started ferreting and scrounging about for J.DRAMA GEMS (the ones without all the over-the-top vocal and facial expressions). These are the ones I lucked out with:
Tenno no Ryoriban ( So far my top Jdrama Gem.).
Long Vacation (1996) (a great drama)
Soshite, Dare mo Inaku Natte
Pride ( So so so good!)
SeiSei Suruhodu Aishiteru
I also just rewatched Buzzer Beat! LOL. Loved it still!
Tatta Hitotsu Nikoi
Algernon ni Hanataba o (Surprise like)
Celeb to Binbo Taro (a little cartoonish :( but bearable)
MY K.DRAMA GEMS are:
3 Iron
Ugly Alert
The Full Sun
Temptation of Wolves
All In
Man on High Heels
C/T DRAMA GEMS:
Sealed with a Kiss
Road to North
It Started with A Kiss (1+2 for fun fun fun)
Boss & Me (Shan-Shan Comes to Eat)...not sure why but love love love.
OMG I love this drama! It ran me through every single emotional ability God gave me. Whew! I'm am now firmly in the J.drama camp thanks to this project. A BIG THANK YOU to the writers, actors, directors, etc., who blessed me with their talented work.
I loved every single episode. It made me laugh, cry, cheer, my emotions ran the gamut. My second bout of SLS attacked me in this drama for real! There were characters I could dislike but absolutely no one that was hate-able It had a little back-and-forth-frustration but it's all good because it was such great acting and funny. For me this was an very delicious watch. I'm such a fan of both leads actually with such a star studded cast I was a fan of everybody! LOL :D
I scrounged around and found this original version which I had watched sometime ago at the beginning of my drama life a few years back. I actually began watching it again by mistake because it seemed familiar with the one I'm watching now (the remake) Funny thing is, I didn't recognize the remake but I absolutely remembered the original because I remembered thinking that the male leads entire appearance was weak and didn't really match the "strength" I thought the roll required. He came off as a spoiled, whining boy rather than a mature male IMO. After that everything else was downhill for me after all they are the main couple.
I felt like the 2 second leads should have been the first leads because they had a stronger story in my view really and suited their parts very well. I thought the Grandpa was excellent and the antagonist too was great! but that's it. I plowed through it as a salute to the remake I'm watching now which is 100% better in every single way. It's well written and well cast. Don't get me wrong, the original isn't the worst I've ever seen it's just very lackluster in comparison.
