You are my lover friend, no breakupmore spoilery details in the comment below
got together in ep 22 (out of 30), though they've been in a weird 'more than friends, but not dating' state since ep14 or ep15. Absolutely not even a hint of breakup afterwards, nor were there any angst in their relationship.
I liked the leads, their chemistry was good. The story was also alright, nothing too special but not eye-rolling either. If I watched it from ep22, I would give this ~8-8.5 for a chill/fluffy romance. If watching from the beginning though, it's 7.5 at most. It's a 'slowburn' romance (friends to lovers), but the drama forgot about the 'burn' part lmao. They literally spent around ten episodes going back and forth, confessing wordlessly to each other but then wondering if they should date or not. They also had around ~10 (not a hyperbole) interrupted kiss scenes :D
No persistent love rivals, though there would be an occasional m/f appearing for an episode to provoke jealousy or force the leads to actually do something.
Oh, this is genuinely frustrating lmao. I understand slow burn and stuff, but this 'tension' shouldn't be done through interrupted (MULTIPLE TIMES) kisses and confessions. It's just lazy. I also really, really don't get their hesitation by this point. Even all other stuff aside, they already hug, hold hands and lean in for kisses - but they still don't realize they like each other? Well, they kind of do, but then they don't. God forbid they actually communicate, that would reduce the number of episodes in half.
I do like the 'slice of life' feel though, and the actors are great. Hoping that at least their dating era will be without any nonsense that cdrama writers like to pull.
Liked the first 5/6 episodes, then it went downhill for me.
1) ML's mother is... i don't even know. As far as I understood, her husband cheated on her, she left Korea with ML and will now rather sue ML to keep him in the US instead of letting him go back? But at the same time, she's supposed to love him/care for him? 2) The chemistry wasn't there for me, esp not after they became a couple. Though this may be a me problem, since I felt the same in both Lovely Liar and Radio Romance (dramas with the same FL actress). 3) What's going on with the second couple? The guy, although showing some signs of affection, was rejecting her all the time, even when she told him in his face that she liked him, then suddenly 'I loved you from the beginning'? Was this just a case of some extreme social awkwardness and scaredness to confess? I'll admit, I started skipping by the end since I was bored, so maybe I've missed something. 4) Won't event comment on 2ML, enough has been said 5) Ending is super rushed.
7/10 at most, and that's from someone who loves simple, uncomplicated, light romcoms.
I don't recall why the company has such a strict policy regarding romantic relationship between colleagues, can…
Probably because the plot required it :D
A direct superior/subordinate restriction is understandable (though still happens all the time irl), but Jing/Zhao situation didn't really make sense to me.
Then again, I never worked in a chinese bank, maybe that's how it is over there lmao
imo, Jing/Zhao couple (not sure if they are considered second or third couple) outshines the leads completely. Not sure why, but the chemistry between ML/FL feels completely flat to me.
It's nice, though, that the leads at least have a decent amount of physical contact, and not one of those couples that never touches each other (cdramas love these lolol)
That argument after that weekend getaway was so glaring because her own husband lost his job because she insisted…
Agreed. I was praising the FL in the beginning, with how she defended her husband before her mother, wasn't afraid to praise him/repeated that they were a team, partners and so on and so on. They were shaping up to be one of my favorite couples but then the accident happened and... yeah.
Dropped it since I don't want angst rn, but it's a shame. Leads are amazing actors.
Since some of you are being hurt over my comments, let me clarify once again...If Cdramas and Kdramas were making…
Exactly why Fake It Till You Make It is one of my favorites cdramas ever. The leads were sooo refreshing, both the playboy (actual, not 'misunderstood') ML and an independent FL with her own life and relationships before ML
After so many dramas with married couples where the husband is a cheater, I have been nervous watching this one.…
Judging by the still frames after the subtitles, there is a LOT of angst incoming between the couple (heading for divorce?). After their fight in ep6, I'm not sure I would be able to handle something even worse lmao
Couple in a fake relationship from the start. Fake rel ends in ep10 (with a typical misunderstanding, similar to that kdrama about art gallery), then get together for real in ep11 (total 14eps)

But agree, it's a shame
