It’s an old kdrama and I’ve always planned to watch that but never did because of all the new ones that kept…
I've been binging old kdramas recently (since I've exhausted new ones...) and, for some reason, the relationships appear much more... natural(?) in older dramas. Idk, just something about the acting/the dialogue that makes leads a pure joy to watch.
It takes them A LONG time to get together - they hook up (almost...), kiss (more than once) and FL manages to get engaged to another guy before they start dating. Once they do (either ep13 or ep14), they never waver - their onscreen relationship is beyond amazing as well, makes me wish it was a 50ep family drama lolol.
Probably doesn't fit this list, but just finished this and thought I'd share, just in case: You Are My Spring.
The couple doesn't get 'officially' together until the end of ep13 and afterwards, there aren't any misunderstandings/breakup/love triangles/obstacles in their relationship. In fact, those 3 remaining episodes are one of the most sweetest, healing episodes I've watched in a drama ever. However...
Although they were not 'officially' going out, they were pretty much in love: they've kissed, flirted, hugged and etc. by episode 9-10. Others, I think, also treated them as a couple. They were very sweet too, but ep12 is the noble idiocy 'breakup' (well, they weren't dating officially, so is it a breakup...) and it's very, very painful.
Up to you whether include this in the list or not (if you ever get around to watching it), but maybe it'll help someone who'd browsing comments in the future like I did 😁
Fabulous They start broken up and kiss/sleep together a few times without officially getting back together. It takes them an annoying while to start dating again, FL is in a relationship with another guy. Oh, and there are flashbacks from their past relationship.
Once together, no breakup/misunderstanding/love triangle. I have to say, this is a very different show compared to other asian dramas in terms of 'casualty' of relationship/sex.
If the separation happened before they became a couple, do you think I should still add it to the list or not?…
It fits the list and is certainly worth a watch. I'll post a detailed spoiler below, explaining the separation:
Basically, FL is in a relationship with another guy while falling for ML(I think they drunkely promised to marry each other or smth). She gets all confused etc. ML helps her deal with a certain problem, which costs him his career, but she, not knowing that, tells him to get lost and never appear before her again (because he makes her question her relationship). Hurt, ML temporarily leaves the country - while she realizes her feelings and break ups with her bf, but ML is already gone.
When ML comes back, they become a couple and never waver/breakup, despite a few situations that made me anxious lol. Also, I promise FL is not an asshole 😂
Date with the future could be a special mention. They do breakup from ep18 to ep21 due to noble idiocy, but reconcile afterwards and stay together (till the end, 36ep). The reason why I think this qualifies as a special mention, there is more than 15episodes of a strong relationship left after the breakup - which is more than we usually get in no-breakup dramas.
Emergency Couple, I guess. Starts with them being divorced and it takes them A LONG time to get back together (21 ep drama, they get back together in 19th). No breakup afterwards, but very frustrating to watch before that moment.
Watched it some time ago, so maybe misremembering, but I dont think they break up here. There are a couple of 'leave me alone, I want to be by myself' scenes due to ml mental issues, but they never break up afaik.
I'm SO glad i found this absolute gem. Leads were supeeeeer cute (16 episodes are not enough...) and one of the secondary couples made me extremely emotional (recovering a failing marriage).
No breakup for the leads, all the problems they have they communicate through and even the 'oh god no, this is going to cause a misunderstanding and they'll break up in the penultimate episode' moment was resolved without any angst.
I have to warn you though, there's a very painful separation before they officially become a couple (think YAMG) / and an actual love triangle (fl is in a relationship with SML). They get together by the end of ep12.
does this drama have a love triangle or some evil girl who tries to go after the male lead or break the leads…
She has some screentime (don't really remember if it was a lot or not...) before the leads get together (but at this time FL treats ML like a friend/brother). I don't think ML tells her directly before ep15-16 (when he rejects her gift)? If it bothers you, you could probably fast-forward those moments, you won't miss out on much - after ep17 (when the leads become a couple), she basically never appears (maybe 4 or 5 short scenes?)
does this drama have a love triangle or some evil girl who tries to go after the male lead or break the leads…
Nah, she's not annoying and not evil. She tries to pursue/confess to ML before the leads get together, but after that backs off and almost never appears.
And about the fl... well, she threw ML into a lake when he tried to make a move on her for first time, so you can understand what kind of character she is lmao

Not really. On the ml side, the girl basically doesn't appear after the couple gets together. On the FL side though, it's a bit annoying. The guy appears out of nowhere after they are a couple already and can't take no for an answer. I think it lasts for like 2-3 episodes, where he appears for ~5min, argues with ML, gets rejected by FL and disappears lol.
A great drama, very low on angst in comparison to other dramas of this size. The leads were 'casually dating'…
Honestly, although the rich in-laws may come off as assholish at first, I felt extremely bad for them later on. They lost their only daughter and now, due to MC remarrying, they also lose their grandkids (instead of basically raising them to visitting once a week or something). So I felt that their initial resistance was justified, unlike many others of similar dramas lol

I wouldn't call it a breakup. From my memories it's more like a... cool-down period? Basically the families intervened/fought and the leads took a while to figure things out (understandably so... they have 5 kids in total lol) . Maybe misremembering, but at least that's how I recall it now.
The family stuff is annoying, but compared to other 'family' dramas, it's not that bad. It also gets resolved after they marry, with like 20 episodes more to go.
It's up to you whether to watch it or not, but personally I've yet to find a 50+ ep drama as good as this one (It's beautiful now would be better, if not for the 'my fiancee's mother is my adoptive grandfather's long lost daughter who hates him' arc that killed the show for me).
I loved "My Sunshine"! especially after they get together and go strong through everything together! I may rewatch…
There was one ick scene though after they get together. Don't remember the details, it was something related to FL's previous marriage and ML got way too rough. Was actually scared for the girl a little bit.
A great drama, very low on angst in comparison to other dramas of this size. The leads were 'casually dating' at first (they both have kids), but then the parents interfered, causing a big fight/separation. I don't remember how long it lasted, but afterwards the leads decided on marriage and never looked back (there's a LOT of episodes with their married life/dealing with children).
Oh, and the chemistry between the leads is amazing. Especially in their dating stage (don't remember when they actually get together... 100% before the 25 episode mark tho).
If there's anything else you're curious about, ask. I watched it relatively recently, so it's still somewhat fresh in my mind.
They get together in ep9. There's a big fight right afterwards (fl didn't tell ml she had a child), but it's clearly not a breakup (ML ignores FL for an episode out of pettiness and basically wants her to coax him lmao; he still defends her in front of his mother despite being blindsided though).
Apart from that, no breakup/misunderstandings/love triangle. Even the 'evil mother-in-law' trope was kept to the minimum. Very fluffy relationship, chemistry was alright
