I really hope his next drama that just finished filming has better writing. He deserves it!

I know he's a supporting character/lead; I'm saying he felt like even less than that. His character had virtually no satisfying development, which is a problem when he's the catalyst for the entire plot that the drama revolves around.

Other than the fact that the writers seemed to give up after episode 8, I had two main issues, both related to the writing (the actors did the best they could with the material they were given):

1. They never did the work to convince me that FL and SML were good friends. SML was treated like a side character and barely had scenes with FL, so the whole marriage deal seemed weird the whole time.

2. They never sold me on the romance between FL and ML. The build-up started out well but suddenly they were confessing in ep 8, which then felt rushed. And then the mess of the forced breakup and the time skip and the reunion and none of it felt earned, none of it was allowed to breathe. They had great bickering chemistry in the beginning, but it never grew into true romantic chemistry for me.

When the writing can't make you believe the drama's character dynamics, immersion is broken and you've just failed. I enjoyed the first half of this drama, but it started going downhill, then fell off a cliff.

I doubt this will be ready for a 2024 release if they still haven't found the lead actors.

We don't know if Hae-in actually filed the papers, but they both signed them. If she did file them, maybe we'll get a big wedding in the finale when they get married again 🤣

Hard to say. Da-hye might have wanted to hide from Grace that the child actually was Soo-cheol's, in case it would make them worry she'd betray them after raising his actual child. Reconciliation might be hard either way, but they seemed to be hinting at the possibility a couple of times along the way.

The acting is honestly daesang worthy and the Baeksang should take note when announcing their nominations next week. I'm expecting best actor/actress nominations for both the leads.

Actually 16 won't be enough. Thankfully we're getting a special episode, too. 🤩

There was also the My Liberation Notes nod on the subway in ep 8.

Judging on how they've set it up, with several scenes where she's shown to feel doubt, and in episode 8 with how Soo-cheol saying he is the only one who can calm the child, and Da-hye struggling on the plane, I think the child is his, and that they might reconcile before the end.

The ratings have been going up every week, so I wouldn't prescribe this to a five-minute cameo, but rather to the consistently great writing and main cast. It will probably continue to rise next week.

She got destroyed because she wouldn't stop posting on social media. Her agency should have provided better advice. He's not obligated to speak on his private life on social media just because she did, and he never did during his 8 years with Hyeri. What was he gonna do after she swiped at him for being quiet and basically called him ugly? No wonder he broke up with her.

Filming in Iceland seems to have wrapped on Jinny's Kitchen Season 2. Since filming is also done for Gyeongseong Creature 2, we might get new casting news soon. I hope so! Unless he wants a break.

Agreed! He really let Seo Ye-ji shine in IOTNBO too, and it elevated the drama.

- So it's eligible! Last year nominations were announced on April 7.

Do we know if it's going to be eligible for this year's awards? I don't know how many episodes have to have aired before the cutoff date (which is March 31 ie today/yesterday)?
