I really liked the first episode. I liked how fast-paced it was. Other dramas would've spent several episodes just on them as kids and leading up to the big betrayal before even starting the actual story. I like both leads a lot (and both Jihoon's personalities) and the tone of the drama is fun. I usually don't vibe with sageuks that are too self-serious, but this has a sense of humor like Hwarang, which I enjoy.
He is plenty upset alright, but she can't pay him for "emotional damages" as much as famous actor. And considering…
True. It's a bit funny that they're talking about "minimizing his appearance" if he was just an extra/had a cameo anyway. It's probably already quite minimal
I am enjoying this as a guilty pleasure. It's like if Gossip Girl were a kdrama. Woo Do Hwan is great and I really like the female lead as well. I don't like SFL, but that seems very much by design. Lots of fun.
Why cant his father talk ? As his deafness is not congenital
It becomes difficult to talk when you're deaf, even if its not congenital, because you can't hear yourself. Especially if you don't speak for a long time. He may also choose not to, because of his trauma, or because his wife and son (Eun-ho) can't speak either.
How does the way people kiss in a drama affect you?
Bad acting obviously affects viewers; it prevents immersion in the drama. If it's supposed to be a romantic, joyous kiss and she looks dead inside, it will be jarring to watch.
This is now rumored to be a Monday-Tuesday drama that will be having its premiere on tvN in June/July. Originally, it seemed to be scheduled as a weekend drama, but now that seems to have changed.
I just hope Lee Do-hyun is nominated for best actor. He really deserves it after doing great work for years and this role was just excellent and showed his range.
I love dialogue-heavy shows. Action tends to bore me if there's too many sequences of fighting, especially if…
The director and cast have been clear about how this isn't a typical monster show, but a fusion of several genres. With the creature once having been human, and not just any human, the focus is really not on being a "monster show". If anything the creature is a manifestation, in a sense a metaphor, for the atrocities committed during this time. So I suppose those who wanted your typical fast-paced action monster show will feel a bit cheated.
