So weird to announce it for August and then just not release it, without saying anything about why itās being delayed.
Weak Hero Class 2 was originally slated for January but there they at least had the sense to not announce it early so most people had no clue and then it came out in April.
Iām still guessing that Soul Mate will come out before the end of the year but the delay combined with the vagueness about queer vs. bromance is testing my patience (yes Netflix tweeted itās a romance but they also tweeted it would release in Augustāand the lgbtq and romance tags are gone from the app).
I think this could be fun if they lean into the comedy a bit (which the trailer suggests they might). If they try playing it entirely straight, it will fall flat and feel cringe. Will for sure check it out at least.
Not yet. And the Vigilante director is doing another project first which is about to start, so NJH may also choose to do another project after East Palace, before Vigilante 2.
Such an eloquent man! I hope those hating on the movie adaptation of ORV can avoid also hating on the actors. They did what they could with the material provided.
There is definitely romance of the desperate need to protect each other variety rather than the cute fluffy moments…
Yep, had they gotten together properly at like episode 7-8 here, they would be like "it got draggy towards the end" and "this only really needed 8-10 episodes, it got boring after that". Very predictable.

And you are right. This seems like the usual case where certain people want romcom/dating era/fluffy moments but that's not what the drama is and therefore it can't meet those expectations (nor should it try to).
