Queen of Tears was the most-watched Korean drama globally on Netflix in the first half of 2024, and in terms of minutes watched, it only placed behind Bridgerton S3 and Fool Me Once of all shows. 🥳
I'm not sure why the change was approved, considering the previous group one was the actual main poster and this is just a couple poster with the two leads.
I agree with those saying Seunghyo is not portrayed in a very flattering light. I know we all love that characters are ~flawed, but this man is a red flag factory. His go to approach is to ignore Seokryu when she does something he doesn't like, or be sulky and mean, or blame her when he's in the wrong. It doesn't bode well for how he'd act in a romantic relationship with her if they were to experience problems.
The ex seemed like a more mature person, and his interactions with Seokryu overall felt much more like the dynamic of two adults, as opposed to the arrested development-ness of the leads' dynamic.
so guys, i hate spoilers... but kinda looking up to watch this showw too much, should i watch the movie or would…
It makes sense to watch the movie first, as that just covers the first part of the novel and the friendship with Jae-hee. The drama covers the entire book.
Episode 10 got a tv rating of 5.5% on tvN, its lowest Sunday rating so far in its run, and down almost a full percentage point on last Sunday. It'll be interesting to see how it performs for the final six episodes.
What are you even at?? Drama has 16 Eps, most probably from next episode they will start dating from next Ep and…
Based on this week's episodes it would feel really soon to have them start dating already from next episode. Her ex-fiancé whom she entertained the idea of rekindling things with literally just left. They've had very little build-up with Seokryu actually exploring what she feels for her mom's friend's son. It sounds like it'd feel rushed.
I'm so glad to finally see the FL's mom ADMIT her mistakes -- it's much easier to sympathize with her now
Too bad it took a cancer reveal for her to change her tune. Ideally, I definitely would have wanted their mother-daughter relationship to have improved without guilt being the main factor.
I duno Ex seemed like "Okay" dude to me and all the fault lies squarely on FL for not contacting her family and…
It definitely would seem hasty if she got together with ML next week. That's the problem with a trauma bomb week as late as episode 9-10. It's hard for the rest to not feel rushed. But we'll see how they manage. I worry they'll struggle with building believable romantic chemistry considering it's been so sibling-like up until now. And with this essentially being "rebound" territory after her ex-fiancé, it really is a minefield getting them together now.
I think the production team fucked up with the genre tags 🙂The drama is truly AMAZING, but I totally understand…
It is also categorized as a romantic comedy on Netflix, with the tags "charming", "feel-good" and "romantic", which is clearly misleading. But I don't think the criticisms are necessarily just about the bait and switch. Many of us love melodramas and tearjerkers, but still feel that the writer here has done a so-so job of making the serious tone of the central story gel with the rest.
I think seokryu bit went too far for blaming hyeonjun after that party scene. I mean she should have thought of…
He put his life on hold for years to be her caretaker, essentially, and she got mad he went to a party? To feel some semblance of normalcy? Not that I blame her either, because her reaction was clearly the depression talking. Neither of them did anything wrong, in my view.
my biggest ick with this show is how the characters seem to meet eachother by coincidence every single time ,…
There's a lot of that. The end of episode 9 was also lazy. Two big coincidences after one another. First Seunghyo stepping on Seokryu's purse on the floor and seeing the envelope sticking out and deciding to open it and read her medical documents. Then their moms walking in the door just as the word cancer is uttered. It cheapened it and dulled its impact a little for me.
They do seem to gloss over the uglier parts of cancer. But then I appreciate that they are in a society where…
In QOT they explicitly stated that it was non-invasive brain surgery by use of cutting-edge ultrasound technology. So shaving her head was not needed. Simply an excuse to keep her beautiful, of course, but it was at least provided.
