Thank you for your detailed analysis! Actually I'm so glad someone finally talked about this. I have to agree with you on this 100%. HaoYan is adorable and cute and gave us all the lovely dovey feels that GeSun couldn't give us. But I also have been puzzled by this for a long time now. LeYan love for hao du was very abrupt for me too. Perhaps maybe this is why I have a bit of a problem shipping them. It felt like one minute she was still hoping Shuyu would show up to the fight and than all of sudden after the fight she's completely in love with Hao Du and it's like shuyu never existed. And yes, some would say that she didn't realized her feelings for him until the fight, and I get that, as I have seen this happen in c dramas before, but than thinking back and rewatching many times, through out the drama up until the fight, I felt like LeYan never really showed any romantic gestures or interest in Hao Du, that would suggest that she did indeed liked him but never realized it. To me it just felt like she saw him as a good friend and can see that he's not as cold as he makes out to be. Perhaps the script writers may be the one to blame for this, as they knew that HaoYan was an end game but ran out of time to connect the dots for us. And the scenes with him picking her up and hugging her when he thought he had lost her, seems to me like she just looked really shocked by it and not sure how to react to it. I guess some might say that at those scenes it showed her feelings for hao du, im sorry but I just can't see it that way.
