Title A Splendid Match Spoiler
Story of Ming Lan was so good!! I haven’t watch The Rise of Ning. Is it good? Good ending?
Yes, The Rise of Ning is very good. Not on the level of Story of Ming Lan, but still very enjoyable. It's actually quite similar to A Splendid Match. FL is however more demure, but just as smart. And it has a good ending.

At least Grandma Ji vented some of the viewers' frustration in today's ep XD
yes, I love Grandma Ji so much. You could also really see how she was venting out Jinzhao's grievances, and you could really see how her personality is shaped after her grandmother.

At first, I came for The Sun from Another Star, then I thought this is nicely rated let's just try to watch it all. Well sorry, I didn't know what I was subjecting myself to. Not even done with ep2 and I can't hold back the tears. I haven't seen Tonliew before, but he does such a good job, oh my god.

I think there are 3 things that are missing for a deserving reconciliation.

1. Fake or Real?
Tim said his personality in their relationship was completely fake, meaning Pai was in love with someone that doesn't exist. So who then is Tim? The way he acted, felt like he was himself the whole time and while there were lies, the love wasn't fake. It feels like the series doesn't really know how to solve the conflict, so they are just brushing over it. They should've either make Pai fall in love again, this time with the real Tim, or they should've emphasized that it's been his real self the whole time.

2. Where is the time?
While I said in another comment that Pai can't be left alone because he will spiral and convince himself that Tim never truly loved him, I still think he deserves time. I think time and space are truly different things. Pai deserves to work on himself for himself, while having the support of everybody he was missing the whole time. He was given zero time to grieve, to be furious, to be even really mean and stubborn, maybe even a little vengeful. I would've loved seeing a Pai that is so full of rage that he dissects their whole relationship from beginning to end, and analyzes when he fell for Tim's tricks. Pai's lack of emotional development goes in hand with the last missing point.

3. Tim's reason?
Correct me if I'm wrong but did anybody ask Tim why he did it? But also, even it the question was asked, did anybody truly care? I think if I was scammed by the love of my life, that's the first thing I would want to know? If they apparently love me so much, why even scam me? A lot of commentators already said that Tim's conflict with his parents came way too short, and they are right. For it being such a trauma for him, that he refused to sell the house, rather live in dangerous debt, put behind his dream career to scam, you'd think that they give us more time to emphasize with Tim. Maybe give us more flashbacks of him being truly tortured by his sudden loneliness when his parents left him. Could he have developed some abandonment issues? That’s why a relationship he deemed fake, was all he could allow himself, because then he would be the one in control, the one supposed to leave and not the one to be left behind?

As nice as it is, as much as I like it, there is a huge lack of character development. That's why Pai's forgiveness seems undeserving, especially for the character we know him to be. They should've either had them fall out much earlier so they could spend more time develop character and relationship, or they should've given us one or two more episodes. (And/Or let marriage be something that they don't need and consider for a few more years, since they just got together for real this time.)

There is a difference between masculine and feminine make-up. All actors wear make-up, even in Hollywood. The…
Maybe they would've worn eyeliner, lipstick, and rouge if there weren't always someone discrediting their masculinity for it.

I think it's stupid to assume the viewer cannot differentiate between (idol) dramas and history. You should just never assume that what you see on screen is a faithful depiction of anything.
There are so many other things about that drama that are extremely fictional, would've never happened the way they did, and were unrealistic. But god forbid they made Zhang Ling He look prettier then he is with some make-up to capture their primarily female audience.

love shin hae sun but I rarely really like her dramas, but I'm so curious about this one because it's sounds like a proper office rom-com, which I haven't seen in a while
