the writing is so good. every episode delivers. no unnecessary filler and yet it has enough calm and funny moments to make it not too heavy or stressful.
I'm struggling with the last 10 eps. What do you mean she's going to prison again? There are soooo many villains at this point, SL still thinks he has a chance, the grandmother is stupid, and her sisters are no help at all.
This was okay. The chemistry was nice, but that's not something the leads have struggled with before in my opinion. It's overall just really nothing new. I feel like I've seen more than dozen of these kinds of stories and even the leads have had similar projects. But it's not like Hu Yi Tian was allowed to be choosy, so I hope this drama gives him the necessary push to get more roles again.

I'm at ep 24, and I understand how the leads didn't get together for five years, but what were the other couples doing in that time? Ting Ting and Qi Yan playing Mouse & Jerry since forever without any progression. Bai Hui and Ze Qui are fake girlfriend-boyfriend and are even living together? What are y'all doing?
I like both actors so much but their latest dramas weren't really my thing. With this, I'm hoping so much that it will be one of their greatest successes.
Someone gotta understand Jin Bai Hui's parents because I don't. Study your ass off so you can get into the best university. But then you don't need to pursue your university studies as seriously, it's more important to get married to someone rich and steady. Because why would you provide for yourself anyway? I haven't completed this yet so I don't know if her parents will come around (probably with these kinds of stories) but they are so infuriating. They won't let her do anything by herself. Instead of a child they should've got a built-a-bear. My poor girl doesn't even know if she has any hobbies.
As despicable as I find Madam Zhou, I do love that she is a character with a villain story. Most villains in historical Cdramas are evil because they are selfish or arrogant, power hungry (we do have this kind of villains here also), etc., but Madam Zhou is a victim. As far as we know, she was made the person she is now. Her way for revenge may be wrong, but I do understand that she'd target Ting Yun for a plan that simulates her suffering because the grandmother is already a widow and has children. It's too late to let her feel the same pain.
I have to say all the actors here are excellent. I'm so captivated by everybody's performance. So far, there hasn't been one weak link. I even had to go check out if Una You had ever played in a horror movie because damn she got the vibe right.
