this is just a prime example for love triangles I hate but I have to correct my statement about the male leads. just one guy is not annoying, just one of them I'd consider a catch.
I wish it would've taken Fan Xing and Yuan Song more time to fall for each other because that would've meant less episodes with unnecessary misunderstandings and heartbreak. the SML is super annoying and he was from the first ep onward.
currently at ep11 and I feel like she's dating the SML more than her actual boyfriend. it's so easy for her to tell everybody she's just friends with him, why can't she have the same energy with her boyfriend. it's not that I dislike her but why is she so naive and vulnerable? it's hard seeing her getting manipulated by that guy. I really dislike him, his behavior is more than creepy
unpopular opinion but I find this much better than the original. the Japanese couple has like no chemistry at all, not that Joy and Lee Hyun Woo have much chemistry either but I feel like I can at least see how they fell for each other, whereas in the movie it is an absolute mystery to me. Generally I think my biggest problem actually is that I find Lee Hyun Woo really unfitting for the role. He's supposed to be much older than the female lead but he doesn't look like it, if he was at least much taller than Joy then maybe that could've helped it - but well. Lee Hyun Woo is a really good actor, I love him, but arrogant roles are not really his niche, I'd say. and while of course Joy's acting leaves a lot of room for improvement, her acting suits the role of the lively and innocent singer that kind of has to find her confidence first. I think the plot is fine, not the best, but much more interesting and reasonable than the movie, because we can actually see the characters and relationships develop. it was still fun to watch, though it is very unlikely that I concern myself with this drama again. I'll only listen to the OST because the music is actually amazing.

honestly what is up with Hae Rang, I'm 58 eps in and I don't understand how and why she feels so entitled to everything. she has an affair with a married man - the wife's fault for not loving him she bullies her friend into depression and out of school - well, she probs living a better life now her brother nurses her into health and is furthermore concerned about her life - only because they are not blood related It felt so fucking good when Tae Rang slapped her face, I replayed it three times. I am really waiting for karma to bitch slap her again.
