tbqh, this is one of the dramas where i shouldn't have let the top reviews influenced my decision as to whether i watch this or not. i pushed this back for months despite absolutely loving the main leads. contrary to popular belief, i didn't find the last couple of episodes as filler eps and enjoyed the last episode. overall 8/10

On Romance Is a Bonus Book Jul 26, 2021
the rating and comments, as well as the older woman/younger man tag, made me bench this drama for two whole years, but since i was trying to clean up my ptw list, i gave it a shot and boy was i in for a treat. i absolutely loved a poem a day, and romance is a bonus book gave me the same warm hug as the one i got after watching a poem a day. i would have given this a 0.5 points higher had it not been for the fact that FL kind of just forgets about her daughter after the beginning episodes. i feel like the writers also should've shown FL's growth as a single mom (or with her partner) as a divorcée. nonetheless, i genuinely loved this. overall 9/10. has got to be one of the highest ratings i've given out for this year.

On Do You Like Brahms? Jul 24, 2021
contrary to most reviews and the obvious rating, i wholeheartedly enjoyed this drama. maybe because having two introverted and soft-spoken main leads reminded me of myself and how i deal with things in life. there was a point when the side couples' growth piqued my interest more than the main. overall 8.5/10. be ready to fast forward through a handful of filler scenes though!

Title My Roommate Is a Gumiho Spoiler
I'm a bit confused as to why he disappears? I thought he would turn evil once his time was up.
he wouldve only turned evil if he failed to understand humanity when his time was up and didn’t have anyone alive that waited for his return. lee dam taught him the qualities of being a human (to be able to love, have patience, and sacrifice one’s self). she also chose to not have the blue marble that hyesun tried to give to her to make her forget about wooyeo and end all her suffering.

It's already Feb 17, if we follow the pattern of the two previous seasons, season 4 would be in March. I'm truly…

Title Mr. Queen Spoiler
should've let byung in die as a villain instead of going back and forth so many times with him and ruining his…
i think it's because he was still redeemable as a character. he did those things for soyong (he had no other ulterior motives) and when he realized she actually loved the king and doesn't see him more than her cousin, he saw that only gaining as much power as the king would save her from both clans. though, not excusing the other shitty things he did in the way. i did find his dying scene way too stretched out

not me giving this a higher rating than the actual drama lol the meteor shower during the ending was so emotional for me. it felt so real and i thought i was with them watching the meteor shower with my two eyes. i think the scene where soyong and cheoljong met for the "first" time totally makes sense as to why he suddenly became cold to her in the beginning. watching this felt like opening a box of chocolates. 10/10.

Title Mr. Queen Spoiler
i decided to take a few days to just digest everything I loved and hated about this drama before i typed this…
i found the ending satisfactory. i don't hate it, but i don't love it either. it could have completely gone the scarlet heart route which would have given me a stroke, but i do think there are better ways they could have wrapped up the drama with a neat little bow. i personally believe that not giving jang bonghwan the chance to properly say goodbye to the folks from joseon was the best way to go especially to court lady choi and hongyeon. i like that they preserved soyong's "new" personality who's demure and by-the-book, but now also bites back when threatened unlike before. truthfully speaking, i think this would have been her true nature had she not been part of the andong kim clan. her name held her back from her true self. also, had jbh told the folks from joseon that he's from the future it would have created a divide between him and soyong. my guess is the writers tried to prevent the remaining joseon folks to become detached from soyoung because ultimately it was jbh that made her do all the things she did and say all the things she said which made her lovable and admirable in the eyes of everyone. in the end, i think it's just not ideal that everyone in a transmigration/time travel drama to have a happy ending despite jbh contributing greatly to the era of cheoljong as king.
