one word for this week's eps: YES! ever since vp ha's sister came into the drama i've been hoping that her and…
also i think yoori just....needs to go out and meet new friends. she's overly attached to sungjoon for being the only one who looks out for her and mistaking the action as a sign of affection. she wouldn't have this problem, or at least would rely less on sungjoon, if she had a bestfriend or something especially being stuck in that rich household alone. either way, they still don't have my sympathy.

one word for this week's eps: YES! ever since vp ha's sister came into the drama i've been hoping that her and jungsun would team up to bring the nasty dudes down and when they finally did, oh boyyy did i let out the loudest scream! i love how jungsun's character is still progressively getting stronger each ep. she's so smart, level-headed, and professional i wouldn't know what to do if i were in her shoes omg. mad respect for the queen!

this drama has me pulling my hair out in frustration. jungsun was spot on in the elevator scene. yoori having a rough childhood doesn't justify her being the homewrecker that she is today. jang nara's acting gave me goosebumps my god. as for sungjoon... yeah trash.

a sweet delight! you get a little it of everything and sometimes a lot more than expected. adored nam jihyun's acting; she portrayed hong shim's character so well. kyungsoo is such an eye candy. supporting roles did splendid as well! ngl it dragged right before the ending and i had a hard time finishing it up, but it was enjoyable in the end. overall 8.5/10

masterful. artistic. trippy. strangers from hell is far beyond the best kdrama, but it sure is unlike the others. the drama tiptoes between the frightening surrealism of life problems with the murderous realism of manipulation. i didn't expect jongwoo's vulnerability meshed with moonjo's unrepentant violence would turn to a brutally compelling drama. this one is a tough viewing absolutely not easy to recommend, but if you're up for a challenge it's a great watch nonetheless. 9/10.

an engaging tech thriller that even though the story ended how it did, ultimately it's the journey that holds our interest. i initially had this drama in my not interested list, but after some time decided to give it a chance and i'm glad i did. finished in roughly three days. overall 8/10 though i would've given an 8.5 if it weren't for the disappointing ending, but that doesn't mean the entire drama lost it's charm. the plot is intriguing with a solid cast. contrary to most of the comments, i didn't mind psh's crying sessions that much except the one on the first episode (wheww...). don't let the rating push you back from watching especially if you're into sci-fi because this is a good one.

Title Encounter
'encounter' is a melancholic mood piece, but ultimately rewarding if you stick around until the end. you will get main leads battling with logical relationship problems throughout the drama that will occasionally make you feel like pulling your hair out in frustration. a new problem seem to arise with every episode which at times may feel a little too overwhelming. nothing about the plot is revelatory as many melodramas have already covered the same essence, but i appreciate the arts and short book quotations thrown from time to time. overall 8/10.

i'm surprised nobody else is taking about the significance of the elevator scene omg one of my fave scenes in the entire drama bc it shows character growth both of siyoung and yohan

Title Doctor John Spoiler
Can anyone explain? When they met at the staircase again after three years, he said something along the lines…
oh wow, didn't even catch this; had to rewatch the scene lol but from what i understood he meant that he didn't want to repeat not knowing anything about his health or how long he will live. basically, he wanted to be sure that when he comes back and presents himself in front of siyoung again he would be healthy because he believe that their "love wouldn't end so easily." when he moved back to korea a year prior to that scene, he was still getting treatment and contacted yoojoon not to tell siyoung that he's back for the same reason: he's still not fully healthy.

is this drama focus on romance?
the beginning isn't but towards the end it's more bittersweet peppered with romance.

On Hotel del Luna Sep 9, 2019
'hotel del luna' is captivating with an unforgivably weak plot. we follow jang manwol as she evolve from an aloof hotel owner to a warmhearted genuine soul before our eyes along with the subplots of her employees. hong sisters painfully tried to top their mega hit 'master's sun' by sticking with the same horror romcom genre and in the end hotel del luna became a hodgepodge of mediocre ideas. all that being said, i will still give the drama a high grade of 8.5/10 because the cast successfully sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions despite all the plot holes. i also appreciate the photorealistic scenes of the different rooms in the hotel--even had me wondering what it would be like if the hotel did exist in the afterlife. the osts is a cherry on top that had legendary vocalists participate in from taeyeon to gummy all the way to iu herself. epilogue shows that a new owner has taken over the hotel and will grow into something more intriguing, although hong sisters have already mentioned that there are no talks for a season 2. opinions are divided after the ending of the drama, but it truly was one of the best dramas i've watched this year. i'll definitely miss this one.

Title Doctor John
'doctor john' is genuinely charming and subtly hilarious. however, slow burn is a given in medical dramas so don't be surprised when you catch yourself shed a tear or two. chemistry between both leads is so strong that their age difference in real life didn't hinder me from finishing the drama (main reason why i initially kept pushing back from watching). kudos to seyoung for delivering her role so well. didn't realize i've watched both of her dramas this year and am starting to become a fan. overall 8.5/10. one truly can't go wrong with jisung!

it's been awhile since i wholeheartedly laughed my ass off while watching a drama. the hype around this drama is justifiable; you get a little bit of everything and while the beginning got frustrating (to me, at least) the way the bad guys just seemed to get everything their way, i stuck until the end and it definitely paid off. one of the best kdramas i've watched. 9.5/10.

there's only a handful of dramas that successfully produce another season without losing its focus on the plot…
i'm so intrigued about dr. jang's third personality. i'm not sure if they will expound on it on s3 (if there's one???) but post credits was everything i needed to be satisfied!
