i'll admit it started off a little confusing with the amount of names and places but once the pace set it was great.the storyline, the friendships, the romances were all amazing.
i loveeeeeddddddd liwei and yinzheng SO SO SO much.
i loveeeeeeeedddddddddd the female empowerment that this show potrayed, how all of the women supported each other instead of fighting as it is potrayed in many different shows.
i loved how the female leads's entire perspective and goals weren't fixed on men. everyone had their goals that they worked for.
in my opinion this is one of the best historical cdramas out there

funny and refreshing
i've laughed out loud MULTIPLE times while watching this show.the plot was original, interesting and engaging.
the acting was great.
the way tang qi was potrayed as an idiot genius that had su chengcheng coming to his rescue time and time again, made me giggle so many times.
the second couple was also VERY likeable, i really enjoyed watching their scenes.
i would recommend this show to anybody looking for a modern romcom

started out pretty interesting
this show had so much to offer but unfortunately towards the you only get half of it.the plot started off really strong and was extremely engaging. but in my opinion as the show goes on it started to lose its spark.
the couple was cute and up until the reveal it kept me on my toes. BUT although the reveal was underwhelming it was an interesting and unexpected twist.

must watch xianxia
wow, i really don' t know why i delayed watching this show for such a long time.i used to think it was maybe really overhyped, but now that i have watched the entire thing i know for a fact the reason why it's still constantly talked about, extremely liked, and has thousands of fans all over.
it's a beautifully told love story that almost has the feel of a grecian tragedy in the ancient times. while watching, speaking from my experience, i really couldn't help but feel for all the characters.
everything about this show was beautifully written by the writers AND beautifully acted out by the actors.
forbidden love lore written SO good i had to take little breaks while watching and just take a little lap around my room.
i really have a LOT to say but feel like i almost shouldn't, because this show is truly something that should be experienced by the person watching, first hand.

underrated masterpiece
i am amazed by the beauty of this show. the way it was filmed, the beauty of the places shown, the beautiful dishes made, the songs, the families, the cries, the laughs.... I LOVE ALL OF ITeverything about this show was so realistically done.
the characters were just perfect, i couldn't help but love and understand every single one of them, i cried with them, i laughed with them, i loved with them.
now that i'm done watching this show i can't help but feel sad because this show just did such an amazing job potraying these characters' entire lives, that i too have now become a lifetime resident of hua street.
one of the BEST modern cdramas.

interesting start
this show had an interesting start and an intriguing plot at first, adding both the past and the present day life of the characters.there was an element of mystery and curiosity about what had happened in the past and how the events will unfold in the present day.
BUT, in my opinion the reality show just wasn't done in an interesting way. at some point you started feeling like they were all repeating themselves a lot.
other than that i would say for the plot this is worth a shot.

this is a must watch coming of age drama
apart from being extremely entertaining, this drama felt warm, fuzzy and funny all at the same time. it felt like sitting by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate, listening to the elders talk about their young years.the friendship aspect of this show also the humanizing of our parents reminding us that they were once teenagers with their own hopes and dreams, that they had fun, they had fallen in and out of love once too, and that they weren't just supporting characters in out lives.
so this is absolutely a must watch if you're interested in tv shows with a high school plot.

90s aesthetic meets mystery
this show has a very engaging plot, the acting was great, the casting was really good and the actors did a great jobit kept throwing plot twist after plot twist which makes it all the better.
but i have to mention i watched this show a few months ago and truly for the life of me i do not remember the ending, and also this show took me a realllllllllyyyy long time to finish
but if you time to binge through and you're into mystery as a genre you'll absolutely enjoy this

QIAO SIBLINGS GET BEHIND ME
story of five siblings beginning from their childhood spanning their entire adult life well into starting their own families.shows with strong family themes have always been one of my fav genres.
I LOVED THIS SHOW, the music was great imo, the transition scene from their childhood to their adult self was iconic.
the bond the four siblings shared was beautiful but you can't help but feel this pain for qiqi and him being kind of left out the frame his whole life. but honestly this just one the reasons why this show was SO good.
every character was clearly flawed, you would get angry at them but you also couldn't hep but feel bad for them at the same time.

one of the best chinese romcoms
this show had me giggling out loud in the middle of the night with my ipad under my bed.the bromance was cute. the main leads were adorable. the story was fun.
the only negative thing i would say was the fact that everybody acted like the drama they had going on for TEN years was something SO serious that they couldnt even mention it. ANDDDDD when it was revealed i was left thinking HUH ?!?!!? ARE WE SERIOUS RIGHT NOW???!!! cause i know for a FACT that it really couldn't have been THAT deep. like all you had to do was take a walk and then sit down and talk about it.
but it was truly truly so fun to watch this show. i was kicking my feet giggling the entire time

BASIC AND KIND OF LAZY
i dont understand how this show is so hyped when it was just ... okay?i dragged through the entire thing hoping to understand what everybody saw in this that i just didn't have the ability to see.
the storyline could have been interesting but then it was just.. okay
the friendship aspect was also just....okay
everything about it was just okay and honestly towards the end it was DRAGGING
bit basic and bit boring (but i think i'm the only person that thinks that))

love truly does endure
story of a beautiful friendship and childhood.everything about this show was so SMART from start tp finish. i remember thinking of this show for days and daysafter i finished watching it.
the pure love all the characters had for each other. the care they held for their childhood. it was all done beautifully.
this is defffffff one for the history books, it deserved wayyyyyy more hype than it got.

creative and fun
i watched this show in about two or three days which is VERY quick AND rare for me. the storyline was extremely interesting that it kept me on my toes the whole way through. the acting was great.this being a prettly short lenght series also added to the fact that it was really enjoyable. it is not redundant at all, which is sometimes a problem with the the tv shows that have a way too many episodes.
but this just the right amount of every good thing a show could offer. right amount of mystery, action, comedy and romance.

THEIR CHEMISTRY SHOULD BE DISPLAYED IN MUSEUMS
although cold male lead and aloof sunshine female lead type of plots are cliche in my opinion, they DEFINITELY made up for it with their chemistry. the story line was interesting, especially because they didn't just make it about their code writing.the main leads all shared an intense passion for their job and all ended up taking it a little too far to the dark side.
don't really want to ramble but you'll definitely LOVE this couple and root for them. but just a little heads up, it does get a little draggy towards the end.

intriguing plot
i remember this show kept me on my toes early on because of the mysterious vibes it gave off. the acting was pretty good.i really liked how it kept it's mysterious facade almost all the way through. the way everybody's stories kept changing and the fact that nobody was truly reliable.
there were a few parts that i felt was left kind of unanswered and also the finale didn't satisfy me all that much. other than all of this if you're in the mood to watch something that keeps unraveling as it goes it is definitely a recommend
