didn't really watch; just looked at the tv once in a while when my family was watching it. but just from what i saw, this movie was so bad. had potential to be better though

- rather than building suspense creatively to keep viewers on their toes, they over-rely on background music and loud sounds to scare viewers, such as a character screaming whenever the *slightest* thing happens like a door suddenly opening. ofc nothing new in horror movies but would've been nice to see a change for once yk?

- some of those meant-to-be-scary scenes felt like a parody. did they forget this is supposed to be a horror movie? cuz why are we getting a scary scene in warm coloring with the sun shining in the background like some motivational video "face your fears" LMAOO too much focus on aesthetics! also, i appreciate the men's efforts, but somebody pls tell them that guns are not gonna protect them from malicious spirits

- there was one part of the movie where, for some stupid reason, they decided to skip the buildup-to-the-jumpscare scene, go straight to the jumpscare, AND THEN flashback to the buildup scene. why would you do this?? it confuses us and now we don't even have that feeling of anticipation anymore because we already know what's gonna happen!! 🤦‍♀️

if you get scared easily or aren't picky about your horror movies then maybe you'll enjoy this. for me, it's so boring, poorly directed, and not scary at all. barely anything happens for it to deserve the 2 hrs it got. i think they had a good general idea but the execution was awful

i knew that art teacher would be connected to xiaoxuan's death the moment she started getting an unusually large amount of screen time for a minor character, but i never thought she'd be the "he" in ren xiaoxuan's diary. what a plot twist!

their story is so tragic. i can understand both sides: xiaoxuan has the right to grieve over the person she liked and the one who brought her happiness during tough times, but lanxin also has the right to be whoever she wants regardless of what others think.

i've seen too many shows where the scene ends immediately after the characters discover something (because they're gonna reveal it later as a plot twist ofc), so i love how the characters here often explain what they're doing/thinking of. makes it easier for viewers to understand. ex: shen yi and he rong yue explaining to du cheng (and therefore to us) what it means when the skull has no serial member

yknow what hell yeah. jiang ge did nothing wrong if we're talking morally. liang yi doesn't deserve to even breathe after all he did to those poor women

this show doesn't have the laugh-out-loud type of comedy, but it doesn't matter because the little comedic moments we get is already hilarious to me. like du cheng clearing his throat to get shen yi's attention but bro was too busy in his own world to notice. even the suspenseful bgm couldn't stop me from chuckling 🤣 i'm already loving the dynamic between those two

it was normal to marry within your family back in the days, so this isn't entirely shocking
