i don't remember if drama fans had any arguments back then but i do know that novel fans did. apparently, the novel author intended for FL to end up with ying yuan (1ML). but fans kept complaining they shouldn't because 1ML treated her so poorly so author made FL end up with yu mo (2ML) instead. of course the drama changed it up though.

i think it sounds strange because we're used to hearing it for just xiang liu / lost you forever. it caught me off guard when i first saw it haha but the lyrics actually suit the scene really well - waiting for something that can never happen (su miao coming back).
