the movie doesn't show the exact reason why yaya decided to leave chunhe, but i wonder if it's related to his disability. when she refused to hold his hand out in the bustling streets, i got the vibe of "i can't be caught holding hands / being in a romantic relationship with this person." that being said, i did feel like her care towards chunhe was genuine and that she truly wanted the best for him; it's just that the feelings were only platonic.
Got to say that I loved Jing and Xiayao since the moment they met. I feel like YZ and DW did an excellent job…
i agree to disagree with some of your opinions, but i wonder what you mean by "growth"? in s1 and s2, i didn't see any growth for his character at all; only characters who intentionally or unintentionally paved a clean path for him.

yaya and her friends accidentally threw a frisbee near chunhe. yaya crossed the bridge to get the frisbee before going back to her side. i don't know how their relationship will look like in the end, but this seems to be foreshadowing how yaya will eventually go back to her "world" rather than stay in chunhe's "world."

i'm not just referring to perfect match. look at the other dramas under her belt; she's main lead in many of them. and as i said, it doesn't matter whether there are intimiate/kiss scenes or not. it's still concerning because they are still considered a romantic pairing. fans who ship them may make edits of them, write fanfics of them (who knows what kind of ff they'll write??) and even ship the actors together in real life!
