I'm putting this down to RUMOR. But I was watching some gossip video on Youtube about cancelled Chinese celebs,…
i havent finished the novel but wasn't his character pretty crucial to the story, like an antagonist? so not sure how they'd edit him out without ruining the storyline.. unless they keep only the most important parts, which they'd then use to AI twap out his face
china has many different dialects, so to ensure that everyone can understand what's being said, they standardize…
i agree, as i also prefer no dubbing, but it seems to be important for chinese viewers. non-chinese speaking viewers may not notice the difference, but chinese viewers can. there have been many times where actors with noticeable accents were criticized for using their original voice.
at least the good thing is that chinese dramas these days aren't dubbed as much as they were in the past.
Voice actors in live action productions make me wonder why the actors I'm watching on the screen needs to have…
china has many different dialects, so to ensure that everyone can understand what's being said, they standardize the language to be only one dialect (mandarin).
other reasons for dubbing: to get rid of background noise during filming like loud fans, or to better suit the character (since the actor may have the desired appearance or acting skill but not the desired voice).
a good example is dylan wang as dongfang qingcang in love between fairy and devil. dylan suits the role visually 100% but his voice has a noticeable accent and does not suit the character's cool demeanor at all. you can see a drastic difference between his voice and his dubber (wang baoshun) here: https://v.douyin.com/ifp6tYAo/
another example is zhou ye as gu sheng in this drama. gu sheng's talking voice really is zhou ye's voice. but because zhou ye is not a good singer, gu sheng's singing voice was dubbed by le xiaotao.
I saw so many people complaining about S2 being terrible, so I prepared myself to be really frustrated with it,…
yes, you can tell they put in a lot of effort in xiang liu's scenes. just look at his first few appearances as both xiang liu and fangfeng bei in both seasons π i may not like how the drama slightly deviates from the novel but i'll always love their obvious bias towards xiang liu ahaha
even wetv's tiktok has mostly xiang liu content. anyone who watches their videos will think he's the male lead lol (https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT225WALW/)
What is everyone watching while waiting for an announcement of TJCβs new projects?
just finished a once-trending thai show called girl from nowhere.
i've been in a drama slump. unfortunately. π₯² after go east, i dropped some dramas, finished fangs of fortune, dropped a few more..... not a fan of the misogyny and overall just unlikeable writing in perfect match so it's on hold until i see improvement. then went to look for kdramas but even they don't have anything that intrigues me enough to start it.
and yes i'm picky. i might just rewatch my fav dramas lmao
I agree.....but if these ig poster can recreate realistic AI....i hope they can tooI really like the premise of…
same here! and the trailer was so good... it might just become one of my favs alongside yang zi's lost you forever and ashes of love. who knows?
also, i hope this doesn't come off as wierd lmao, but i saw your name pop up frequently when i was stalking the older comments earlier. it's nice to see you still camp on here all these years π
That last episode had so many secrets being revealed, so many things happening at once. I haven't even processed this reveal yet and theyβre already moving onto the next one?? π It was so chaotic that it became almost hilarious. Disappointing considering itβs the last episode, thus not a good/impactful ending for me to remember this show by :(
Actually tbh, before watching, I thought this show would be dark and solemn since it touches on sensitive topics. Ep 1 kinda validated that but ep 2.... The overall vibe is too dramatic to the point it felt like I was watching some parody. The ideas were good but the execution wasn't really.
A good one-time watch though. Love Nanno's character.
sad that they didn't make those bgms accessible to everyone, and didn't even release all of them that were played in the drama π
