Like Kokuto said, it sort of is but it also sort of isn't. Lemme pull up the notes that I keep handy cuz this…
I tried to be as neutral/unbiased as possible otherwise some certain people might come at me and I'm too lazy to reply to all of their nonsense again LMAO
But yes there are a lot of hidden lines in LYF. Only a rare group of people are able to unravel its complexity, not simply treating it as a typical romance story š¤
Have not watched this drama at all, only seen clips on social media platforms like FB. But based on just those clips, I have to ask viewers, are there any fight scenes in this drama where they physically fight and not just rely on CGI and hand motions?
I believe the director changed the ending to appeal to the audience and increase the drama's popularity. However,…
Yes I also felt disappointed that their deaths were not really cared about just cuz they're side characters (it was also super unnecessary to kill them off smh). The special episode didn't even mention them although they've been with Xiao Heng for so long. I'd feel happy if they just showed a brief scene of him reminiscing them, maybe right before Xue Fangfei and their kid come in the room. So many people think love is everything and that it's a happy ending just as long as the main leads are alive and happy and end up together. But I disagree. The Double imo is bittersweet because two important characters were lost and disregarded idc if they're main or side.
Sorry I have to just let this rant out cuz it's been bothering me lmao (I've currently watched 29/37 eps)
Lemme start off pleasantly by saying that I really do like this drama overall. The vibe reminds me of old cdramas, like Chinese Paladin 3 which is one of my all time favs btw. I saw some comments complain about the humor but I personally Iove it and find it refreshing. Tan Jianci ofc main slayer, Du Chun is doing a wonderful job too as Wang Kunwu, Yuchi Hua was off-putting at first but now she's alright. I love the Sifang Pavillion squad including Lao Yu, Lao Ji, and Shen. An Xiuyi and Susu are so adorable despite not being an official couple (yet?) I wish they'd get more screen time.
Ok now the rant. FIRST. Some deaths were completely unnecessary, like Prince Duomiās bodyguard and Ah Shilan. Did they even try to save the bodyguard before pronouncing him dead?? He died too quickly! And Ah Shilan was very insistent on her revenge so why did she all of a sudden decide to end her life right then and there? Doesnāt make sense, as if theyāre killing off characters for the sake of drama or ending a plotline.
Now the main thing that's been bothering me...
The love between Yuan Mo and Ah Shu feels extremely one-sided so itās hard for me to fully support their relationship. YM loves her and we see it clearly through his facial expressions, actions, and dialogue, ex: buying gifts for her, doing things for her, always concerned about her. Yet I donāt ever see AS do anything for him (except ep 23 when she tried to keep him from leaving).
Like in ep 29, when AS said sheās going to the festival with the refugees, YCH asked āWhat about Yuan Mo?ā and AS replied āIf he wants to see me, heāll come find me there.ā What kind of response is this?? She couldāve said something like āAh right, I should ask Yuan Mo to come along too!ā but nooo she doesnāt consider him in her plans at all while heās always thinking of her. She didnāt even personally tell and apologize to YM herself about canceling the plans. Poor YM was so disappointed cuz he had prepared boat tickets for themā¦
Girlie does not gaf about that man sorry YM you deserve better. Sheās always doing things on her own and ending up in trouble, which makes YM worried sick and have to come play hero saving her š¤¦āāļø Thereās more things that AS said/did/didnāt do that ticked me off but if I go on further then weāll be here for ages LOL
Iām not gonna blame Zhou Yiran for the most part since sheās just acting according to script and the script/character is my main complaint here. However, I will say that if her facial expressions and acting were more loving and on par with Tan Jianciās, then I might have liked YM and AS together even just a lil bit, in spite of how poorly she treated him. At least in that case, they would have good chemistry and look pretty cute as a couple.
Mannn whatās up with dramas having insensitive FLs (who are supposedly deeply in love with the ML by the way š) The man is always chasing and saving and loving while all she does is EXIST. Just make the relationship equal please and thanks š
Like Kokuto said, it sort of is but it also sort of isn't. Lemme pull up the notes that I keep handy cuz this type of question is so common...
There are four MLs in Lost You Forever and the FL has a different relationship with all of them.
FL: Xiao Yao/Wen Xiaoliu (Yang Zi) 1ML: Cang Xuan (Zhang Wanyi) 2ML: Tushan Jing/Ye Shiqi (Deng Wei) 3ML: Xiang Liu/Fangfeng Bei (Tan Jianci) 4ML: Feng Long (Wang Hongyi)
FL's romantic love interests are 2ML and 3ML.
1ML's character and storyline is what drives the plot of this drama. He loves FL romantically but she only loves him like a brother (though it's worth mentioning that she loves and cares for him deeply).
4ML and FL are more like good buddies. Neither of them love each other romantically, but he is an option for FL in case her relationships with the other MLs don't work out.
If you like this kind of story or are intrigued, it doesn't hurt to give it a try. But I know this type of show isn't for everyone haha
Is anyone else having subtitle issues with this drama? Sometimes, conversations between characters get hidden…
What platform are you watching on? I like watching my dramas on kisskh but I noticed that their subtitles do this too. You can watch on dramacool/watchasia. They don't have this issue because their subtitles are already added to the video before uploading. https://watchasia.to/drama-detail/go-east
I never thought a prison scene could be this funny!
Same here 𤣠Once I saw Lao Yu enter Yuan Mo's cell I burst out laughing and had to pause and replay it again. The lighting and music made it so much funnier LMAO
Late to the party but I'm finally here... slowly catching up š„² The scene in ep 6 where Lao Yu saves Yuan Mo is top tier comedy, from when he enters the prison cell with chicken to when Yuan Mo tries to resist himself from the wine 𤣠I really love Lao Yu's character
Finished watching all 34. I liked it overall. Ep 24 "Fitting Room" and 32 "Housekeeping" stuck with me the most.
Stories are hit or miss and kinda cliche. Some have really good plot twists while others are poorly written and not even scary. Most if not all end on cliffhangers. They're supposed to be short though so don't expect detailed explanations!
same here! i do not want to.miss his acting , and i have to re watch the episodes... šš
Yes I also had to rewatch so many times haha. Tan Jianci is just too good. My eyes keep wandering to him even when he's not in the camera's main focus š¤£
I still enjoy this drama but her coldness and indifference really bothers me. It seems to me that she doesn't…
YES! There were so many times where I thought she'd finallyy show some emotion for CXZ, but it always ended up with her going back to being cold š and that last line, 100% agree
Yup, love inequality exists. Acceptable if the premise is just the beginning of a romance, its not the case for…
Yes it'd be alright for the beginning but we're near the end! There's only 9 eps left. How are they supposed to get together in this short amount of time when LMT looks like she doesn't even want to??
Exactly!! Her actions are so callous. I don't know what level of a strong woman they want to show but it really…
Agree with everything you said. The LMT right now should've been a mix of her two selves before the amnesia (a bold and strong LMT/LW) AND after the amnesia (a caring LMT who loves and is devoted towards her husband "Cui Jiu"). Pity that her character went back to square one, as if the sweet LMT who lived in Cui Mansion never existed š„ŗ
