Why are you “very sure” that they didn’t love each other when the Lovers Bug literally exists? It’s solid evidence that they did love each other back in Qingshui Town and still do now despite their opposing stances. Proof that you didn't even care to acknowledge its existence and purpose.

If you read the novel then you already should know that the bugs never turned into Heartbreak Bugs, even during emotional and romantic moments with Jing. When Xiao Yao dated and kissed Jing, nothing happened. When Xiao Yao was so heartbroken over Jing’s death to the point where she wanted to kill herself, nothing happened. Many years passed by and absolutely nothing happened to the Lovers Bugs. In the end, Xiang Liu had to kill them himself. This all demonstrates a strong mutual love between him and Xiao Yao, does it not? Imagine how many more years they would’ve lasted if he hadn’t killed them.

And I’m not sure why you’re saying we should focus on feeling sorry for Xiang Liu for taking on those bugs. There’s so much more to love and discuss about Xiang Liu outside of that lol. It seems to me that we should focus more on the Lovers Bug instead because clearly, a lot of people aren't understanding its purpose. Since you believe that Xiao Yao never loved Xiang Liu, please explain why Tong Hua would create the Lovers Bug plot and why they never turned into Heartbreak Bugs.

You make it sound like Xiang Liu was able to "enter" Xiao Yao's heart because of the bugs, when the truth, which so many of you YJ turn a blind eye to, is that the LOVERS bug requires both parties to be IN LOVE in order for it to work. The fact that they were successfully implanted in both Xiao Yao and Xiang Liu means their love is mutual, not to mention they never turned into Heartbreak Bugs. But of course, let's ignore that fact and just criticize Xiang Liu instead because acknowledging the Lovers Bug would mean YaoJing isn't real. I don't care if you ship YaoJing, but insisting that the only person Xiao Yao loves and have ever loved is Jing is just ridiculous.

Yes! That's one of the reasons why she became my favorite. Amazing actress who always puts her 100%. Even personality-wise, she's very friendly and seems like such a lovely person.

For Cang Xuan, I believe it's cuz she only ever saw him as a brother. It's kinda hard to explain 🤣 Once you think of someone as close family, then it's tough to view them in a romantic light, you know? And for Xiang Liu, it's because he kept their relationship transactional (ex: saving Xiao Yao in exchange for a part of Chenrong mountain) and because Xiao Yao has always been a cynical person and unsure of Xiang Liu's feelings for her. Plus, it's easier for us to see that both Cang Xuan and Xiang Liu loves her since the drama shows their perspective to us.

Yes! It was supposed to be a heartwarming scene but all I could focus on was how horribly done her makeup was, not to mention the acting (vocally and physically). It was off-putting to watch.
