Am on episode 33 after the wedding. Iām deciding whether to continue or not. Obviously Iāve read the spoilers.…
The way I see so many comments disliking the three shards arc... am I the only one who loved it š Lamu and Wenren were my favorites. You can continue if you just wanna get it done with. But in my opinion, this drama should've ended right after that wedding scene in ep 33. The rest of the episodes felt like drama for the sake of drama (and to fulfill the 40 episodes).
An unorganized rant/opinion dump about this dramaNote: Very long. I also haven't watched the Korean original so…
I need to get this off my chest first. THE AD PLACEMENTS. They couldnāt have been any more obvious. I forgot which episode, but there was one argument scene that I couldnāt take seriously because the sponsored drink was right in our faces! š And donāt even get me started on the BGM during the Nissan car scenes. Thatās literally an advertisement, not an ad placement lmao (btw I don't normally watch Thai dramas so is this common?)
The actress playing FL is so good. You can clearly tell the difference between Mind and Meen, from the facial expressions to the voice. Natee, Gun, and Tida's actors also did a great job.
Gunās actorās smile is so cute! It makes me feel more sympathetic for his character. Suffering all that but still goofing around and smiling so brightly.
Why is Meen so mean lmao. The only people sheās nice to are Mind and her mom. I like her strong personality but it comes off as bitchy and rude sometimes.
I really liked Natee in the beginning but once Gun was introduced, he started getting on my nerves ugh. I hate possessive MLs who treat the SML as competition and the FL as a prize to be won. Because what if FL actually liked SML? Does he not care at all about what she thinks? Selfish af.
Tida is such a pitiful character. She doesnāt even realize how alone she is because the only things she can see are jealousy and hatred.
I love Nateeās dad and Meen/Mindās mom. So nice to see non-abusive and genuinely caring parents.
The students in Mr. Qās class are so bipolar damn. š One moment theyāre loud and obnoxious, then the next theyāre all supportive.
I hate that they villainified May at first. All she wanted was justice for her sister that nobody cared about ā Meen partly included.
So Natee first loved Meen but later fell for Mind⦠Does he love Mind because she is Mind, or does he love Mind because she was Meen? Seems like the latter to me. A boy fell in love with both a girl and her sister. Iām aware that he didnāt know, but this situation makes it hard for me to root for them. This is why Gun shouldāve been endgame! He loved Mind for who she was and was always there for her.
There are some inconsistencies that I donāt understand. Is it just the typical drama logic? Like when Tida bullied Mind, not a single soul stood up for her. But when itās revealed that Mind committed suicide, the classmates criticized Tida to the point where she switched schools. Like where were yāall when Mind was still alive? Bystanders arenāt any better smh. And where were Tidaās friends/fellow bullies in that scene?
The last episode was very satisfying! But I do wonder what happened to Tida. She said she had nowhere to go and no one to see, then apologized to Mind, and that was it⦠Like did she end up homeless? At least show us a final scene of her happy ending or redemption (ex: her working or volunteering, etc)
Yes, I still wished Gun ended up with Mind. And no, I donāt ship Gun and Lyla. But itās so beautiful to see a drama show that the world doesnāt end after your love is rejected; you can still find happiness in and love someone else.
Overall a nice drama! Couldāve been shortened by one or two episodes, but itās alright.
I think, its just a marketing strategy to promote Deng wei and his character Jing cause out of all main leads,…
I originally thought that too but regardless of DW's acting skills, he still gained a ton of fans and love thanks to his character TSJ anyway. So I don't think he needs that exposure. And this whole thing coincidentally coincides with the Tencent/DW and YZ/DW issue. I guess we'll never know...
Heh.I'm not on weibo, but I haven't seen any rumors of Deng Wei being cut from the actual show. Even if I did…
I was thinking the same thing. As much as I wouldn't mind TSJ being cut out :D it doesn't make sense for Tencent to do that or even replace his actor. That'd result in hysterical TSJ/DW fans and Tencent/LYF losing a substantial chunk of support.
Rumors say that Deng Wei won't be in season two? Everything is already done and filmed though hmm... Maybe they'll still keep DW/TSJ in the story but won't promote him as much.
Iām also confused because they possible love rivals were introduced in the beginning but they havenāt done…
Yes, I agree it was nice to see a drama like this with no major conflict. But it makes the show very boring and unrealistic - in my honest opinion. Plus, specifically for this show LMLMV, the lead's dynamic and FL's childish/passive personality and mumbling voice annoyed me so much that I couldn't properly enjoy the show š (Note: That's not to blame Zhou Ye or Tan Jianci though. They're just acting according to script. I already hated these stuff when I read the novel).
Oh noo I'm sorry I gave you that spoiler š I probably should've mentioned that since not a lot of people talk about him and what happens to him... I also got spoiled about his end through the LYF facebook page
Iām also confused because they possible love rivals were introduced in the beginning but they havenāt done…
"keep going" š¤£š¤£ lmao if I did, we'd be here all dayyy
Well.. you made it. Congrats! I know it wasn't easy. š«”

If you like nostalgic romances, you can check out First Love: Hatsukoi (2022). Flower of Evil (2020) has a mix of romance and thriller/crime. And this one is kinda an oldie but forever one of my favs, the movie Werewolf Boy (2012). Warning: it's a pretty sad story.
Some historical cdramas if you're interested - The Starry Love (2023) - Love Between Fairy and Devil (2022) - Lost You Forever (2023) (season 2 will be coming soon) (of course I have to include this wherever I go LOL)

Omg yess the FL had zero character development š She was bold sometimes, but then eventually resorted back to being "shy" (which seemed more submissive and passive to me than actually shy) and childlike as you said.
I also wished there were more scenes of her singing and playing instruments. After getting into a relationship, her personality/life was basically reduced to being just a girlfriend. I can feel that ML has way more love and passion for music (and food lol) than FL. Now that's ironic, considering ML is supposed to be the one voice acting and singing as a hobby while FL the one pursuing music professionally.
And I agree with your last point, though I believe the purpose of all those side characters was just for them to serve the main couple, not for you to actually connect with them. You know, like fanfics... "Y/N and [insert your crush's name] are the best OTP!!"
Okay I think I'm gonna get jumped if I continue roasting this drama ahahaha
does anyone know another MDL page that can beat this? once the drama airs i bet we're gonna have a million lol

Note: Very long. I also haven't watched the Korean original so this is solely based on this Thai adaptation.
Rumors say that Deng Wei won't be in season two? Everything is already done and filmed though hmm... Maybe they'll still keep DW/TSJ in the story but won't promote him as much.
Because it's historical genre and promotions can take several months, I think we won't be able to see this drama until early to mid 2025.
if they're going for a sad ending then okay... but at least make it satisfying by giving us closure... and what happened to yeondoo and hyunjin š
Also btw I think you should put your comment in a spoiler! cuz not everyone know this
Well- just like nathsketch, let's pretend that something also happened to Left Ear and Miao Pu, and they can't protect Xiaoyao anymore lmaoo
There's no point in having someone who loves you and treats you well if they can't even protect you... ššš
Well.. you made it. Congrats! I know it wasn't easy. š«”
