Lmaoooo clowns indeedI just want to see Tan. Is that too much to ask? Dude lost so much weight for this, let us…
I know π I read somewhere that he also fought to ensure Gu Yun was not dubbed (or at least was dubbed by himself) and said Gu Yun was one of his favorite characters to play. All of this is going down the drain??? No wayy!
HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY to one of the only xianxias that managed to capture my heart!!!i still remember the time…
What a strange coincidence... I was listening to music and suddenly felt so nostalgic when The Starry Love OSTs popped up. Came over to the comment section to say that I miss this drama, just to find out it's been a year since its release thanks to your comment! Is this a sign for me to rewatch? Haha
I just finished watching the drama and im going crazy over the soundless selfless love of XL over XY Please people…
I think you might wanna put your comment as a spoiler because of that last sentence.
As for your question... I hate to break it to you but the answer is no. π XL so carefully made sure that XY would never find out how much he loved her. Imagine how heartbroken she'd be if she found out that the person she loved also loved her back. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
?? I didn't feel it was long at allπ each moment felt benefiting and Accurate
I guess everyone has different tastes.
My complaint about the drama being/feeling too long is because 11 out of the 16 episodes have essentially the same storyline: long political talks, ML and FL going back and forth, and chaos happening at the college. There's not really anything new or interesting that happens for it to be that long.
By episode 10, I was already bored of the repeated episode plots. But too bad I'm someone who doesn't like quitting if I'm already halfway haha
An unorganized rant/opinion dump about this drama:
So I'm just gonna pretend like the last 6 or so minutes of episode 24 never happened. We do not need any more "what the heck just happened" moments in the LAST episode.
I love how for most of the series, they barely played the OST, only the BGM. But for the last few episodes, they played song after song and broke our hearts even more. π₯²π
This drama was full of so many "bish you thought" moments. Plot twist after plot twist. Everyone here has secrets. Can't trust anyone fr.
I can't believe they cut my girl Shangguan Qian's screentime near the end... And we don't even know if she was able to fulfill her revenge against Dianzhu or not. What will happen to her?
The most pitiful character imo is Gong Ziyu. He suffered so much, from thinking that his father never loved him, to finding out that his loved ones betrayed and lied to him. Not to mention the pressure of carrying the Gong family on his back. Poor guy. I just wanna give him a hug :(
Esther really proved her versatility with this drama. Now that I've watched this, it's hard for me to believe that Orchid and Yun Weishan have the same actress.
There's so many unanswered questions! I wish they come out with a season 2, but the possibility of that happening seems unlikely. π
The last part was not supposed to be funny but it was lol, sorry πΉ But it's a pity that your edit got rejected.…
Im still salty they rejected it lmao
The reason: "The current cover image is still the main and most widely used poster for this title," [like Baidu Baike and Douban] "so it can stay as the main poster on MDL, too." π«
Since the first episode, I knew what was coming.... that Wufeng and Gong would inevitably have a battle that'll bring lots of pain and deaths. And yet I'm still upset. Ep 22 was just a cryfest. I'm not ready to watch the last two. π
I even cried for Han Yaqi and Shangguan Qian. Perhaps to you, they are your enemy. But to someone else, they are their loved one.
Her sisterly bond with Yun Wei Shan is so cute! However, after finding out how old Yun Que's actress is in real…
I thought she was 17-22 but just has a baby face (like Yang Chaoyue). It never crossed my mind that they'd cast a much younger person cause that sounded ridiculous π
She's 15 now (08 liner) so she must've been 13/14 when MJTY was filmed....
I watched it back in like late 2017 and loved the drama, but the age gap just never ever sat right with me...…
Actually... that's a pretty valid reason. I always wished they made the FL a college or graduate student. That'd be much more appropriate than her being a literal high schooler. (I swear whenever dramas involve school, it's usually high school π like why not college??)
Other than that though, the plot and romance here are some of the best in kdramas imo.
I really wish they casted an older person to play Yun Que π₯²
Her sisterly bond with Yun Wei Shan is so cute! However, after finding out how old Yun Que's actress is in real life, and then watching episode 17...
When Yun Wei Shan asked the current Elder Yue why does he have Yun Que's bracelet, I was like "Oh god pls noooo" ππ But of course! I should've known.
Sorry, I'm just having a hard time accepting that loveline because of their real-life age gap. I don't care if Yun Que and Elder Yue are supposed to be the same age. If the drama producers wanted us to think that, they should've chosen an older actress to play Yun Que.
Why does everything have to be romantic? Are drama makers allergic to platonic love?
But the writer said that XY got what she wanted the most
Yayy we got another one on the YaoLiu side now :D
And don't blame yourself for thinking that. Instead, we should be blaming XY (cause this girl keeps going back and forth between two guys smh) and the drama producers (for constantly shoving YaoJing in our faces, watering down YaoLiu's moments, and giving us that contradictory feeling you mentioned).
Even I admit: had I not ventured into that expert XL/YaoLiu thread and read the novel, I would've also been like you and so many others who believe that XY doesn't love and has never loved XL, only Jing.
There is no season 2... yet.In case you didn't know, the Chinese Paladin dramas are based off the game franchise…
Long Kui's ending: Tang Xuejian jumps into a pit of fire to fix the Demon Sword. Jingtian fights with Chonglou and loses. Jingtian lives with Long Kui in the end.
Tang Xuejian's ending: Similar to Long Kui's ending, but Long Kui jumps into the pit of fire carrying a useless sword, preventing Tang from making contact with her. The sword becomes powerful again after it enters the pit of fire. Jingtian fights with Chonglou and loses. Jingtian lives with Tang in the end.
Zixuan's ending: Chonglou saves Zixuan and in doing so loses his powers. Jingtian settles in the same village as Zixuan.
Hua Ying's ending: Chonglou and Jingtian make an agreement to duel 10 years later. Hua follows Jingtian and they travel together.
Perfect ending: Jingtian fights Chonglou and wins. Chonglou revives one girl and the other three live together in Jingtian's new pawnshop. This is the ending where Chinese Paladin 3 Plus: Wen Qing Pian picks up eight years later.

The most widely used β The best

Maybe they could've had the FL have a past history or romance w/ the ML? Yet then that'd be wayyy over the top...
Other than that though, the plot and romance here are some of the best in kdramas imo.
