Oh noo I'm sorry I gave you that spoiler 😭 I probably should've mentioned that since not a lot of people talk about him and what happens to him... I also got spoiled about his end through the LYF facebook page
I’m also confused because they possible love rivals were introduced in the beginning but they haven’t done…
"keep going" 🤣🤣 lmao if I did, we'd be here all dayyy
Well.. you made it. Congrats! I know it wasn't easy. 🫡

If you like nostalgic romances, you can check out First Love: Hatsukoi (2022). Flower of Evil (2020) has a mix of romance and thriller/crime. And this one is kinda an oldie but forever one of my favs, the movie Werewolf Boy (2012). Warning: it's a pretty sad story.
Some historical cdramas if you're interested - The Starry Love (2023) - Love Between Fairy and Devil (2022) - Lost You Forever (2023) (season 2 will be coming soon) (of course I have to include this wherever I go LOL)

Omg yess the FL had zero character development 😭 She was bold sometimes, but then eventually resorted back to being "shy" (which seemed more submissive and passive to me than actually shy) and childlike as you said.
I also wished there were more scenes of her singing and playing instruments. After getting into a relationship, her personality/life was basically reduced to being just a girlfriend. I can feel that ML has way more love and passion for music (and food lol) than FL. Now that's ironic, considering ML is supposed to be the one voice acting and singing as a hobby while FL the one pursuing music professionally.
And I agree with your last point, though I believe the purpose of all those side characters was just for them to serve the main couple, not for you to actually connect with them. You know, like fanfics... "Y/N and [insert your crush's name] are the best OTP!!"
Okay I think I'm gonna get jumped if I continue roasting this drama ahahaha
I think they will end up together. They wouldn't show us all this angst just to end in pain.
That's what I'm hoping for too! But part of me also thinks they might go for a more realistic approach and give us a sad ending, or even a neutral ending where they end on good terms... cause that's just life. Some couples can work it out, some can't. Love isn't the only thing a relationship needs to survive.
Yep, there's that too. Only the worst ones survive. Except for Cang Xuan. He is a good lad and a good king.
"Only the worst ones survive." Thanks to everyone who sacrificed for them to get their so-called happy ending, of course... If something ever happens to Cang Xuan, the only good and capable person left, then it's all over for them.

It's okay, you're not alone. I'm actually also one of the people like you who h̶a̶t̶e̶d̶ didn't enjoy it. But I try to be neutral when it comes to these comments haha.
I was thinking they could've added an arc about ML's relationship with his parents. Maybe he resents his parents for not being around a lot? Then later, with the help of FL (make her do something for him for once), finds out his parents are regretful and actually do love him, they reconicle, etc. Cliche af lol but I don't know- just anything to make the drama more interesting. They had 33 episodes and didn't do anything with it.

That's exactly how this drama is supposed to be. All the characters live in a happy bubble where nothing can go wrong. There is no antagonists to defeat and no major problems to solve.
I guess it all eventually comes down to personal preference. Some people like this type of drama because it's a breath of fresh air compared to others that have too many angst and misunderstandings.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that's basically what this entire drama is. Just them talking about food…
I also love Tan Jianci and have grown to like Zhou Ye thanks to this drama, but I agree that the script is the problem here. 🥲 Since you're not gonna finish, and if you're interested, you could search up LMLMV clips on Youtube just to see what coupley things ML and FL do.

There is no love rival in this drama. However, there are admirers (like Dong Yiru is a fan of Qiang Qing Ci) but none of them are jealous or salty to the point where they try to break up the couple.
I love Jian and Zhou a lot but 2 episodes down and the leads are playing hide and seek. All that has happened…
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that's basically what this entire drama is. Just them talking about food and music and doing coupley things. Some people enjoy this type... I didn't. If you aren't enjoying the earlier episodes, then I would recommend you drop it now.
lmao I've been so obsessed with Xiang Liu that I forgot- we're going to witness Feng Long's death too 😭 Tong Hua, why did you have to write such a sweet and funny character and then kill him off? All he wanted was to help out his buddy and protect his sister. These self-sacrificing characters get such a crappy ending...
Also btw I think you should put your comment in a spoiler! cuz not everyone know this
Well- just like nathsketch, let's pretend that something also happened to Left Ear and Miao Pu, and they can't protect Xiaoyao anymore lmaoo
There's no point in having someone who loves you and treats you well if they can't even protect you... 👀👀👀
Well.. you made it. Congrats! I know it wasn't easy. 🫡
