Sad ending... unfortunately. However, they released 2 short bonus episodes of the leads living happily. I'm not sure if that was meant to be reality or just a dream to soothe viewers.
So I guess it's ultimately up to your interpretation - whether you consider those bonus episodes the real ending or not.
I am on episode 22, still a long way to go. Can someone spoil me with the ending please? . Happy or sad ending?

can someone tell me from which episode they start dating? is it very slow burn?
Yes. Extreme slow burn. Extreme. Even one of the OSTs is called "Slowly."
They start dating in ep 8. However, since it's both their first relationship and they started dating only a short while after meeting in person, they're still very awkward and shy and learning more about each other. Kisses don't happen until the last third of the drama.
Yall remember when S1 ended, a lot of us hoped there would be no controversies with the actresses and actors so that S2 could be aired without trouble? .....yeah. π₯²
Who knew it would be a controversy related to LYF, not their personal life. Sigh.
OMG Zhang Jingyi's bangs remind me of Zhao Jinmai's wig in Stand by Me. Its hideous but I'll probably grow to…
I also thought it was hideous when I first saw it, but now I'm starting to realize she looks really cute. It's not easy to pull off that look. The bobcut is a whole different story though....
I don't know what they're saying but I can already feel all the angst and pain from this MV π’ Hope that platforms will have Eng subs of this movie when it's released. I really want to watch it. It reminds me of one of my favorites, First Love: Hatsukoi.
Hyo Sun to me stole the show, her eternal optimism was healing for the soul.Hyo Sun and Eun Ju needed each other…
"Hyo Sun and Eun Ju needed each other to grow."
I like how you said this.
Eunju comes across as cold and aloof, while Hyosun spoiled and annoying. Neither of these qualities are desirable. But if they can meet each other somewhere in the middle, they can grow and become a better version of themselves.
It's kinda like how the world needs both introverts and extroverts, creative intelligences and traditional intelligences, etc. not just one or the other.
The casting for this drama though. Whewwww. They all have such good acting skills and visuals. I can't imagine anyone else playing their respective roles.
China is VERY strict so the chances are extremely low but not impossible. Fan Bingbing was able to return five years after her tax evasion controversy β not without criticism, of course...
I do get the feeling, though, that Deng Lun is gone for good. After all, it's not like he's unemployed and desperately looking for work (i.e. thinking of coming back as an actor) since he already owns a chain of hotpot restaurants. I really hope he's happy now in whatever he's doing π

Also, am I the only one who thinks Zhou Ye looks so shippable with everyone/all her co-stars π Neo Hou, Tan Jianci, Cheng Lei, Lin Yi...
This is her Douyin, where she posts covers: https://v.douyin.com/iNqxpm1p/
I believe this is her Billibilli account: https://b23.tv/JrvtRCj
